They know their stuff! Sides and mains are well-suited to beer aficionados. Service is spare but friendly. If you're going to try good beers, you will be happy.

As other reviews have stated, this pub has a great location and is a fantastic place for beer, as the selection is extensive. Service is professional and friendly. The food menu is simple but interesting and has all the items you would want to find in a gastropub - mussels, steak frites, sausages. The food would have been excellent, if... More

I try to come here every time I am in Chicago. I love good craft beer and this place has an excellent selection of US and Belgium Beers. The atmosphere is perfect for a place like this. Nice outdoor patio in the back, dimly lit dark woods etc. The food is also tasty, streak frites and other good bar options.... More

This is a warm and inviting bar with an excellent restaurant. Some places like this fail at one or another but Hopleaf is great on both counts. I don't know how many drafts they have but the beer selection is awesome. For serious beer drinkers, there's a cooler of off-menu bottled choices, mostly Belgian beers, which are a specialty of... Funky vibe, great selection of beers, wines and ciders on tap and in bottles. The front room is the old bar I guess as it feels like an old bar with many times painted over tin ceiling (now green) and big, solid wood bar with booths on one side and beams in the middle of the room - it all... More

Our group arrived on a Monday evening and Hopleaf was respectably busy, and got busier as the evening went on. We sat at the elevated table near the bar and had a good view of all the folks around us enjoying their drinks and food as much as we did. The beer list is quite impressive with at least 40... More

I wanted to do two things last time I was in Chicago -see a Cubs game and go to Hopleaf- but didn't have time for both; I absolutely made the right choice...sorry, Cubbies. The tap and bottle list quickly confirmed my decision, but the food is what brought a huge smile to my face. Nice selection of interesting items all... More

Thought I would be eating simple bar food but the menu is full of very unique dishes. Everything was delicious. The Tilapia sandwich was hot and fresh. Perfect. Lots of great beer on tap too. It's a big place so explore and enjoy.

Tried the brisket done Montreal style. Don't know what that means but it was killer. Beer is fantastic with several choices on the menu

This bar is just on the fringe of Girltown, and has a relaxed Portland feel. The place is deceptively large, at first it just looks like a small bar, but then it seems to go back a long way and then connects to adjacent buildings. The crowd was mostly youngish, flannel wearing males, many with beards, as would be expected... More
