The appetizers, specifically the sausage plate and the potato-cheddar croquettes were both very good and have me wanting to come back for dinner. The beer selection is very large and made up of high quality choices. This is a local bar/restaurant that is easy to reach by using the "L" Red Line and getting off at the Berwyn stop.

Surprised that they didn't brew any of their own, but the broad array of tapped beer more than made up for that Food was excellent. Scallops, fried chicken and pork chops.

The food was great, the atmosphere is typical of a neighborhood tavern however the beer selection was disappointing. When I travel to other cities, I try to seek out neighborhood establishments, hence this restaurant. I was disappointed that the large beer list did not include more beer selections from some very good local breweries, that are within walking distance of... More

They know their stuff! Sides and mains are well-suited to beer aficionados. Service is spare but friendly. If you're going to try good beers, you will be happy.

As other reviews have stated, this pub has a great location and is a fantastic place for beer, as the selection is extensive. Service is professional and friendly. The food menu is simple but interesting and has all the items you would want to find in a gastropub - mussels, steak frites, sausages. The food would have been excellent, if... More

I try to come here every time I am in Chicago. I love good craft beer and this place has an excellent selection of US and Belgium Beers. The atmosphere is perfect for a place like this. Nice outdoor patio in the back, dimly lit dark woods etc. The food is also tasty, streak frites and other good bar options.... More

This is a warm and inviting bar with an excellent restaurant. Some places like this fail at one or another but Hopleaf is great on both counts. I don't know how many drafts they have but the beer selection is awesome. For serious beer drinkers, there's a cooler of off-menu bottled choices, mostly Belgian beers, which are a specialty of... Funky vibe, great selection of beers, wines and ciders on tap and in bottles. The front room is the old bar I guess as it feels like an old bar with many times painted over tin ceiling (now green) and big, solid wood bar with booths on one side and beams in the middle of the room - it all... More

Our group arrived on a Monday evening and Hopleaf was respectably busy, and got busier as the evening went on. We sat at the elevated table near the bar and had a good view of all the folks around us enjoying their drinks and food as much as we did. The beer list is quite impressive with at least 40... More

I wanted to do two things last time I was in Chicago -see a Cubs game and go to Hopleaf- but didn't have time for both; I absolutely made the right choice...sorry, Cubbies. The tap and bottle list quickly confirmed my decision, but the food is what brought a huge smile to my face. Nice selection of interesting items all... More
