We were looking for a special restaurant where my husband and I could celebrate his very big birthday. The "Flora" and "Fauna" menus made my vegetarian, gluten-free presentation equally as important as the non-vegetarian. The evening lived up to our expectations for a meal that was well beyond the food itself, which was superb. Service was amazing and the food... More

We literally had a small team attending to us during our meal, a new person presented each of the 9 courses. For the price and as far as Michelin rated establishments go, I have had better food. Some dishes came out very salty and it seemed that they had a group of sous chefs "photo copying" the menu. Everyone's dishes... More

Let's start with the positives: the service was quite good. The room is quiet and lovely. Now that we have that behind us, let's deal with the real issue, the food. Grace is a poster child for much of what is wrong today in many high end restaurants. The chef confuses great cooking and what can only be called "plate... More

The service was very professional and met my every needs. The Fauna first six choices were were playful in their presentation (I ask and was correct in thinking the chef had worked with Grant Achatz at Trio and Alinea) and exciting pleasures to senses of sight, smell, and taste. Although the desert courses were OK, they where underwhelming when compared... More

We went here for an anniversary dinner and the place is all class. Our taxi had a little trouble finding the place.....just look for the silver door. The venue is modern, small and very personal. At 2 michelin stars the food was as amazing as expected. Where this place really stood out was in the wine pairing and service. At... More

Extraordinarily creative and complex food! I agree with the extensive praise in all the reviews and cannot add any new thoughts about the food, ambiance, and service. So here are 3 tips about what surprised us, a couple going out for anniversary dinner: Surprise #1 $205 per person, plus drinks tax & tips. Surprise #2 we missed out on some... More

I was afraid that I could not enjoy a place like Grace because it would be too sophisticated for my palate. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised. Tyronne and the rest of the staff are very knowledgeable and articulate regarding the courses, Each bite was exquisite. The courses were perfectly timed by Adam and left the kitchen with a cadence that... More

The fact that this restaurant is so highly revered in Chicago-land and amongst food critics, leads me to believe that my palate is simply not refined enough to fully grasp the complexities of Grace's menu. With that in mind, my experience was not bad, nor will I be going back. We went on Valentine's Day and were expecting a higher... More

We went here for a late dinner with friends. It really is a wonderful experience. Our dinner started out with a tour of the kitchen and we met Chef Duffy. The kitchen is actually spectacular and worth a look - it is spotless and a total OCD dream. The dining room is very well designed - crisp and clean, just... More

I walked past this restaurant a few times as it's almost hidden. What a quiet little gem of a restaurant. The staff is very informative and know their wines and foods well. If you go, plan on spending a pretty penny, but you won't be disappointed with the flavor of the food. I liked that afterwards we got to tour... More
