Quick service, friendly server

This is a vibrant bar at night and has a nice outdoor patio, unfortunatley we were not able to sit outside due to wind but the day we left it was open and it's nice to sit, have some drinks and people watch.

Thought we would stop in to have a local beer or two. Happy we did, server Laura suggested the special of the day. Smoked chicken wings! The best I have ever had to date. Hats to the chef..

Very busy and well designed pub with good food and a great variety of beer. Service was fast even when it was busy.

We had their award winning mac & cheese, braised short ribs mixed in and fried onion straws on top! It was a $12 appetizer and we couldn't eat it all! Great bar!

Very accommodating for dietary restrictions. A little quiet for weekend full of people at the hotel..was hoping for a little more pep. One night had entertainment..a duo..very good.

Really solid Fish and Chips. Fish was moist and flaky. Fries done perfectly. Kind of 'chip wagon' style. Caesar was a mess. Iceberg lettuce, croutons, Parmesan and dressing. This was no Caesar. Beers - all good and enjoyed the sampler. Service was wonderful and enjoyed watching game 6 in this atmosphere.

The menu is a bit limited, but the food is good, the service is friendly and the live Irish music in the evening is a nice touch.

I ate here while staying at the Hilton Chicago. I is on the ground level. I had the fish and chips, and a couple of beers. The location is of course fantastic, inside the Hilton but also street level on Michigan Ave across from the park. Staff was only barely friendly.

It took a while to get a drink at the bar, we couldn't see any bartenders at first either. When you walk in, there is a strange smell to the place that is offputting until you get used to it. A shot of crown was $14 - that seems like a lot to me.

Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city.
