Right next door the the Double Tree Hotel, this restaurant is a great way to start your day of sightseeing, shopping or college tours. Our waiter was very nice and had good ideas about what we should have. The pancakes are amazing! Worth a visit!

We took a break from our hotel breakfast on Columbus Day. We saved money at the West Egg where we found friendly, fast, fun service, an extensive breakfast menu and good food.

In town for the Chicago Marathon. The food was amazing.! Perfectly poached eggs over corned beef hash and tasty crispy pan fried potatoes. Eggs benedict was great as well. The food around us was all great looking. Sit at the counter and make new friends. Locals there as well as tourists like me! Loved it! Timothy O'Toole's next door is... More

Fabulous place - just down the street from our hotel, and judging by the crowd, very popular with the locals and the tourists alike. Solid breakfast food, large portions, very well cooked. The host did a great job of taking names and juggling patrons in and out. The staff was a show unto itself watching them change tables over so... More

We had breakfast at West Egg twice on our recent Chicago holiday because it was so good. The food is really nice and well presented. I couldn't believe it when I was presented with a plate of 4 huge pancakes with fruit and cream! The eggs are delicious as it the corned beef hash and breakfast potatoes. Not cheap but... More

had a great experience at west egg - and the most delicious breakfasts! very crowded sunday morning, and i can see why....wait still went very quickly - blueberry pancakes were outstanding, and my son's omelette was divine....definitely recommend! (also tried yolk during our trip - also delicious, but no comparison to west egg)

I ate here with a colleague one morning before a meeting. The place was packed, food was very good and sensibly priced. Service might have been a little quicker but they were extremely busy.

Went there after reading reviews on Yelp. Lots of 'egg' choices. It was ok, if I was close by, i'd probably drop by again

This is not a fancy place. Just good, hearty breakfasts with generous portions and friendly, efficient service. We would eat here again when we stay in this area.

Ordered chops & eggs...w/well done white toast. Took forever then eggs and potatoes came out ice cold. asked for tomaote juice...received V8. They are not the same folks. Got untoasted muffin instead of the toast. Ate one egg left the rest. Asked for bill and waited and waited...never came so I just dropped a $20 and bolted. The reviews here... More
