One of the best dogs in Chicago

In a city filled with great hot dogs, this place has always been in my top 3. There is a unique smell and taste that no other place has. I hear people complain about prices all the time, but a jumbo hot dog and a fry from Portillos is only a dollar cheaper, and IMO the quality is worth the... read more

Unfortunately, it looks like prices inched higher again. Up to $5.75 for a superdawg (that's a hot dog for people who may not know this). Superdawg also serves burgers, chicken sandwich, fish sandwich, grilled cheese, shrimp, and a steak sandwich. Fries are also served with most sandwiches. Personally, I love the food. Never had a complaint, and they always get... More

I have heard about Superdawg since I was a kid and never went. Then, a Groupon opened up recently and decided it was time to try. I'm very glad I did! An overall excellent experience! I have never been to an official drive-in style experience and hardly ever eat in my car (eating inside Superdawg is an option); but, this... More

If someone was visiting from another country I would take them here. Damn good food and a look into what this country was at one time before chain restaurants and the mass marketing of fast food. Is this the greatest dog in the country? No. But it is really good and consistent and comes with a taste of history.

If you are familiar with a Chicago style hotdog this is the best. If you are not whenever you stop by make sure to have one or two. A crisp skinned hotdog on a sesame seed bun with mustard, relish, onions and tomatoes with fries. You can order inside or have the car hop bring it to the car (on... More

I can't imagine a Chicago hot dog much better than this. We drove a few miles out of the downtown area to visit this drive in. Being from Detroit and loving our "coney" I wanted to get a true chicago style dog. I cannot imagine anything better than this one. Very nostalgic drive in building, hot dogs coming out in... More

Although you can walk up and order, the whole experience is based on the ordering from the car. They do a great job with the hot dogs and burgers and you just have to love the brightest green relish ever.

This restaurant not only has some of the best hot dogs, but is a living example of the car hop style of restaurant previously only seen in movies. French Fries are quite good and come in the same box that the hot dog comes in, be sure to get plenty of the onions, relish, mustard, and whatever else on them.... More

Simply the Best....the Hot Dog tasted great! It wasnt over spicy or garlicy like some other places. The fries are hand cut, fresh, and have the best french fry taste!

People who criticize this place are the same one's who eat Dominos pizza and go to McDonalds then pick apart this quintessential Icon of the 1950's! This is an experience not to be missed. Car hops that bring your food to the car and you place your order over a speaker system! Filmed in the movie 16 Candles....bring the kids... More
