A nice surprise.

That they are in a nice setting and in a perfect location is obvious. We came attracted by the look of the place, but that they also serve excellent food was a surprise. The room under the cupola is spectacular. We tried the Wellington steak and, although it did not look as expected, the steak and... read more

This restaurant is one of my Must Stops when in the City. They have a large menu and each item is better than the next. The dessert menu is amazing.

Very extensive menu..we came at 430 which was great because there was still some delicious lunch specials. For $14 I had steak tips a cup of soup and side salad. Make sure to save room for the butter cake. We had something similar in California and would come back just for that

If you only go to enjoy the interior design, it would be worth the trip. There is an extensive menu, and the food is real and very good. Service is always friendly, efficient and accommodating. We were there on Saturday morning when they opened and lucked out with a window seat overlooking Michigan Avenue. (The restaurant is located on the... More

BEAUTIFUL art deco building! OUTSTANDING service, particularly the surprise edible birthday card for my 19 year old daughter! Wide range of choices for any type of foodie. We enjoyed the tapas, choosing a variety to try and enjoy!

I have eaten at the Grand Lux Cafe on various occasions and have been happily satisfied every time. There are many many options on the menu that are both delicious and healthy. My favorite salad is the Asian Salad. It is more likely that you won't be disappointed. Enjoy!

Stopped in without reservation on a week night. Got a wonderful table by the window looking down on Rush street. Drinks were good and food was wonderful. Food arrived quickly as well. Enjoyed our experience.

I'd compare the selection to that of Cheesecake Factory and maybe even a notch better quality The portions were large. The ingredients were very fresh. Service was both friendly and fast. I will be back for sure.

This is a sister to the Cheesecake Factory. I wasn't impressed. For the money and for the time, I would go to the Cheesecake Factory before here. The service was great, and the bread was good, but honestly, not what it seems.

We chose this wonderful restaurant for a birthday lunch. Even on a busy Saturday we were sat quickly. The menu offered items everyone liked. We even considered some of the desserts that take a half hour notice to prepare. Unfortunately, this is when our visit became less impressive. After ordering, our food came out randomly as if everyone had ordered... More

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
