Excellent Thai Food

Dao is a grateful experience. Great combination of ingredients and the good atmosphere allows you to have a gourmet experience. Don't forget to try the Gyoza (the best I ever tasted) and I recommend the Cashew Chicken that is really good.

Amazing food and service in this restaurant.. Had two meals here the server lady (did not take her name down) did such a good job in explaining the menu and being attentive.. Much better service than giordanos!! I suggest the Tom yum and Thai steak..

The decor in this place is striking and makes you comfortable immediately. The food was excellent - not completely authentic, but not so much of a fusion either. Service was friendly. Good place to relax and chat over great food after a day of work or sightseeing.

For our last night in Chicago, we decided to try this restaurant, after passing it a couple of times on our trips between hotel and conference center. I'm glad we did - the food was amazing, the service was excellent, quick, friendly....even for a mid-week evening. I went with the Crazy Noodles - hints of spice and heat everywhere, mixed... More

We were looking for an Asian fusion restaurant and ended up at this place. We ordered pad thai, some house drinks and red snapper (which is so spicy and delicious!). Experience Thai fusion here in Dao Thai Restaurant!

This place is not worth to try! The food was "different" but although it was acceptable...the service was not! the servers were very impatient and rushing. We take a vacation every month and thia place is definitely on our no no list

Dao is a very nice Thai restaurant. Food is very good, price is right and they are always consistent. I enjoy the Basil Chicken, Yellow Chicken Curry, Tom Ka Kai Soup and Tom Yum Noodle Soup, and their cucumber salad is very good, too. You cannot go wrong here.

This location is authentic and all the decor makes you feel as if your in Thailand. the food was very quick and our drinks came right away. Service was very quick, and pleasant. Basic menu, what you would see at any Thai restaurant. I would go back my meal was delicious.

I had dinner here and was pleasantly surprised with the low cost and good food. I really expected to pay more in downtown Chicago. Nice place with good service and good food in a trendy setting. Well worth a try.

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
