Good pizza, long time restaurant.

Even when Rudy (the owner) isn't there he haunts the place. Painted wall pictures of he and his wife from many years ago. Friendly service, good thin crust pizza, and nice looking pasta. Pasta helpings big enough for two. Gotta love this place.

The pizza at Pizano's is very good. I have had other Chicago style pizza, but the pizza at Pizano's was way better.

A great little place on State Street, Chicago. We went with family and ordered the pizza, a few beers. Staff is great and no rushing us. We sat by the window.

Went to experience traditional Chicago pizza - was nice food but one small pizza took 30 minutes to arrive on a Monday night when there were about three other tables. Had to eventually ask where our food was... The pizza was great but probably not worth the 30 minute wait.

We were leery of trying Chicago deep dish again, but a friend suggested Pizano's. We loved it! We had to wait about 30 minutes in a cramped space up front, but they offered to take our order for the pizza while we waited, as it takes about 45 minutes to make. We also happened to get an awesome table in... More

I've visited Chicago multiple times and had my fair share of deep dish, however Pizano's thin crust is unbelievable. It's like a succulent pie crust for a sweet taste sturdy enough for meat, cheese, and sauce. The staff is super friendly, and it's a quaint little restaurant to make you feel like you're in Italy. It's definitely worth the wait

The reviews were good but I have to say I was disappointed. I will stick with Lou Malnati's. I had the deep dish and the crust was not that good, actually kind of hard. The toppings were ok, but nothing spectacular.

Went on a Monday night with business colleagues, 6 in all. Seated immediately and attended to all night long very well. I ordered chick parm which was VG. Most others ordered personal pizza and loved it. Goos selection of beers and drinks were delivered promptly. My white russians were VG and they don't skimp on the alcohol. Friendly place.

Entered this restaurant without high expectations although it was recommended by our hotel concierge. It was just lunch and we ordered a pizza (what else). We were told it would be 30 minutes, but, oh well since it was deep dish. So we've subsequently eaten pizza several times and reputedly Chicago's finest, but none held a candle to this truly... Away from the huddle and bustle of Michigan Ave, but easy walk from the Water Tower. Good pizzas, deep dish and thin. Waiter had a great sense of humor and served us well.

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
