Deep dish with my son

1st time ordering the deep dish. I have to say the pizza was very good. I have been to Uno's Lou's and all the other top pizza places. This place can hold its own. My son and I went for pizza after the Sox game. We sat at the bar where Brian (bartender ) was very attentive. He poured a... read more

Awesome deep dish pizza! Noisy and crowded, but pizza was the best deep dish I have had. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait for a table so we ordered our pizza so it would be ready when we got our table. We were seated after about 20 minutes and pizza took about 20 minutes more-but worth... More

I didn't care fro the thin crust deep dish pizza. But the ingredients were ample. It need a bit of salt believe it or not.

This is the original location for Pizano's, the inventor of the deep dish pizza. Go here for this type of pizza and a beer. You could also shared a giant chocolate chip cookie for dessert ;-)

WOW, great Chicago style deep dish pizza. Although we had to wait for 15 minutes while tables remained empty, but when we eventually got sat, it was a great pizza with good service. It is in a great location, easy to walk to from Michigan Avenue and close to Grant Park.

I think this was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. We did a pizza tour to really dig in to the history, ingredients, and styles of the Chicago pizza scene. Pizano's had my favorite Chicago style pizza and also 2 of my favorite thin crust pizzas we had that day. The difference is that they use fresh tomatoes... More

The atmosphere in this cozy, Chicago memorabilia-filled restaurant tells you right away you're in a place that serves good deep dish. We had the cheese, a sausage with peppers and veggie (with extra sauce on the side). I loved the sausage on the pizza more than the toppings or the crust. The flavor was tasty but not the best pizza... More

We were told by a tour guide that this was the place Oprah got her pizzas....so we had to try it. It was very good but after a few days of eating a lot of pizza, Giordano's was our favorite, sorry Pizano's.

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
