Description: Located on a corner in the heart of Lincoln Park, Four Farthings Tavern...
Located on a corner in the heart of Lincoln Park, Four Farthings Tavern and Grill has welcomed patrons to fill pints and plates for half a century. Though the tavern was originally a quaint space with a ceiling only reaching nine feet, it has grown through the decades. Today, it is an up scale resturant where customers can uncover something different every day-a sidewalk brunch on Sundays, Trivia on Wednesdays and karaoke on Thursdays and Saturdays, and live music on Friday. The bar keeps their signature wings on special and televisions abuzz with sports on the weekends- catching all the action of College Sports (BIG 10 Conference & Michigan Booster Bar) & NFL football on the weekends. Plasters of photos of old Chicago across walls paneled in centuries-old wood (which was imported from Wisconsin's Kimberly Clark mansion and milled onsite for a custom fit). The Grill Room was added in 1983 and features fresh steaks and seafood along with pastas and daily specials. The bar side offers lighter fare and outdoor seating at our beautiful patio! The bar and party room are popular spots to view sporting events or meet friends to relax. We are excited to continue the proud history of Four Farthings and put our own touches on an old favorite!

Great Neighborhood Pub

My wife and I stopped by Four Farthings for a quick pint after a pizza lunch with family. As we entered about 2:30pm on a Thursday afternoon, the pub was not busy at all...just us and another couple. But, the draft beer beckoned and we grabbed a table by the window for a rest and a pint. It was... read more

The restaurant was not busy when we ate there. Only two other tables had guests. Our service was incredibly slow. We also had to ask the waitress to refill drinks. Just as she was about to serve our long-awaited meal, a glass of water spilled as we made room for our lunches. Our waitress never offered to get napkins or... More

We visited the bar area on a Saturday evening (they have a separate dining room also). We found a table and one of the bartenders (Jerrod) came out from behind the bar to tend to us, he mentioned the dining room was busy. We could also see there was a private party in their back room, so the place was... More

I've only been to the bar several times for drinks but it is a great place to hang out and have a beer in Lincoln Park. Also had lunch (steak sandwich) and it was very good. Good beer selection and great place to watch sports. Service at the bar is superb. Recommended for a good "bar and Grill" experience.

We had a large group of 9 and service was excellent. Food was good and portions were plentiful. Most of us had the Fish and Chips and each was easily able to change chips for baked potatoe or more salad. Food was presented at the same time for all without having to wait too long. Another great Chicago neighborhood spot.... More

We were attracted by the nice seating possibilities outside on the street, so we stopped by for dinner. The noodles with chicken were a huge portion, but tasted not really special. The ribs were quite good. Good selection of wine and beer. Service pushed to pay when we finished. Good athmospere, good food at reasonable prices.

The service was terrible. How do you hire someone who hates seafood and over 1/3 of your menu is seafood? He forgot things, he disappeared from time to time, it just made the entire meal a downer. The food was good but most likely would have been better if the service was better. The only thing that made me happy... More

We ate outside on a great Chicago evening. The lake superior fish and lamb chops were good, with very good side dish. However, the service was terrible. I have been at busier places and had 1000% better service. Dessert of mango cheesecake and cinnamon ice cream were good but not very exciting. Great locate, but food needs upgrade. And fire... More

Had brunch here today. Foods was abundant but not especially good. 3 of us had salmon omelets and one a stack of banana pancakes. The chocolate mini muffins and cream cheese are a nice touch in the breadbasket which comes out ahead of the food. I would go back but I would not rush back. Perhaps the bar is better... More

My friend and I stopped here for a quick bite before seeing a matinee at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. The bar part of this establishment is quite charming; it has a beautiful pressed-tin ceiling. We had a drink while waiting for the restaurant to open. They have a good selection of beers and premium liquors, although they are a bit... More
