My husband groaned when he heard my sister had booked our family group into this restaurant. We used to live in Chicago and this traditional theater area place has been there for years and is not exactly cutting edge, foodie heaven. Bottom line, however, is that we enjoyed our meals and had a good time. It exceeded his expectations, which... More

After reading the reviews for this restaurant, I was looking forward to enjoying a great Italian meal here. After trying it myself with my family, I'm a little disappointed. We were seated in an enclosed booth, which rather separates you from the rest of the diners - this is good and bad. The privacy is nice, but you can't really... More

Italian Villages Restaurant has 3 restaurants under one roof, and we chose The Village for dinner. It is the oldest Italian restaurant in the Chicago area. The Village restaurant is on the 2nd floor. Not sure if there are any elevators as i didn't see any at the entrance. It was worth the climb up for dinner!. The restaurant décor... More

It has history and if you are looking for decent Italian food, this is a great restaurant to try. Location is convenient if you're near the Millenium Park/State Street shopping and can't beat the warm bread with oil and cheese... More

Food, ambiance, and service are all excellent. The pasta is wonderful and cooked perfectly. Prices are reasonable and the wine list is huge. More

This has some of the best Italian food around. It is a great location for the theaters. You do have to climb quite a few stairs. The restaurant provides a unique old world ambiance, with small private "booth" rooms for true privacy or regular table seating. The ceiling looks like the sky at night in Italy. Family owned for many... More

Went for dinner after The Jersey Boys performance at Bank of American Theatre. Great place to go after because it is only a block away from theatre. Food and service was excellent! Started off with fresh Italian bread with olive oil and cheese...Salad or soup......We were a table of 4 and ordered Salmon Putanesca, Eggplant Parm., Algelotti, and Veal Picatta!... More

I used to have more occasion to dine at Italian Village when I worked in the City, on Monroe, in the next block East of the Restaurant. We (my husband and I) were Downtown to see "Jersey Boys" at the Bank of America Theatre, so we had lunch at Italian Village, prior to the 2:00 pm showtime. Server was slow.... More

Our party of 10 were cramped into a room that was like a closet with one exit, in which three or four people would have to move out to let someone out to take a call or use the restroom. I asked for a pitcher of Sangria, as we ordered a glass and I enjoyed it, and the wait staff... More
