Slow service for a Friday

Came here around 8pm on a Friday night after work with 7 co-workers. First delay was in the bar area while waiting for our table, took several minutes for the service to even ask if we wanted any drinks, we said yes and he said he'd be back with menus, never saw him again before our table was... read more

It was very cold and we were starving so we stopped at Houlihans on East Wacker, a block west of Michigan ave. The bar was incredibly noisy but we asked for a quiet table and were seated away from the bar and it was quiet enough to have a nice conversation. I had the petite filet mignonette with potatoes and... More

Houlihan's is well situated, 1 block from Michigan Ave. and right across from the Riverwalk. It has lots of nice, private booths for up to 4 people and some big circular tables for a larger party. It has outside tables facing the river for summer. The menu is varied, and there's lots from which to choose. The tortilla soup was... More

Food was good. Try their flat breads. The service seemed slow though. Soup was served lukewarm not hot \

This restaurant is family friendly and quality is consistent. There is enough variety to please many appetites. Portions are medium to large. Good value too for downtown Chicago.

Houlihan's was within walking distance of our hotel. We shared the scallops and fish tacos, both were great and our server excellent. Coffee and Creme Brulee completed a wonderful night out.

The food was very good. The waiter was mostly attentive but like many other places disappears for long stretches of time. I highly recommend the salmon BLT sandwich.

They have a quite average breakfast buffet for 9.99 excluding drinks. The lunch was average, the beer not that great. Overall, not the best Chicago experience.

Their breakfast buffet is reasonably priced at $9.99, although beverages are extra and a glass of orange juice is $3.99. They have a good selection of hot and cold items and an omelet chef. The mixed berries are not fresh, but frozen and thawed, but the pineapple and the melon were all fresh. The oatmeal was too watery and thin... More

We were seated right away, but sat there for almost 15 minutes before a waiter came to give us menus. After we ordered, we waited a super long time for the meals to come out (there were only three of us, and we each only ordered an entree). When the food finally came, though, it was excellent! So 5 stars... More
