Nice hole in the wall.

Sandwiches and sups are VERY GOOD! Good service, better prices! If you're in the area, this is an excellent choice for a quick lunch and a late night snack.

As an Italophile, I was immediately smitten with this establishment because it reminded me of an authentic Italian bar. I had a wonderful panini with grilled eggplant, mozzarella, and pesto. I believe the price was around $6 which was reasonable. I also purchased several Italian food products that I haven't been able to find outside of Italy. I can't wait... More

This place is quite small, BUT they have so much to offer, and the atmosphere and decor is really detailed and trendy, pretty, authentic. They have packaged Italian foods like a little grocery, they have a huge bakery, they have gelato, they have wine that you can get by the glass or bottle, they have a deli with meats and... More

We stumbled upon this place and went in for some breakfast; their toasted ham & cheese croissants are delicious. The place was clean, the staff were pleasant (if a little curt, but i assumed that was just being a local; no conversation, just service). They had an excellent range of sandwiches, pastries, cakes etc to choose from and everything looked... More

I was staying round the corner so this was a quick and easy place to grab brunch before heading out for the day, I visited two or three times while staying in Chicago. Each time I got a freshly made Italian sandwich from the counter at the back of the store. The Italian guys serving may lack a certain amount... More

I was staying at the Drake and wanted to try something different (and more reasonable) for breakfast so we tried L’Appetito. I assumed it must be good because it was a bit crowded when we got there. We did have to double back twice because the place does not open until 7:30 which did not make sense to me. That... More

We stopped here the first morning of our visit and kept coming back. A little something for everyone and fast. Pastries, muffins, sandwiches, gelato and more. We had two picky eaters with us and all found something of choice to eat.

We were in Chicago for 4 days and went to L'Appetito 3 times. Authentic Italian deli with fabulous sandwiches, the Tony's Special and the Muffuletta were our favorites, fabulous sweet treats and Gelato. The cafe has a sweet atmosphere and is a great place to stop and rest after a long walk down the Magnificent Mile. The only reason I... More

Located on the Magnificent Mile, L'Appetito is noted for breakfast, tiramisu gelato, Arancini (Italian fried rice ball stuffed with ricotta and spinach), grilled panini and its prosciutto di Parma sandwich. But many patrons stop in for a slice of sausage pizza and call it lunch. Me? I'm more of a traditionalist. Breakfast is two scrambled eggs, potatoes and sausage links.... More

Came here a second time and this time had a Arancini, Italian fried rice ball stuffed with ricotta and spinach. If that was all that they served this place would be five stars easily! It was out of this world. Creamy and crispy all at the same time! Done to perfection! Also had a cappuccino. Not the best. Insert sad... More
