My wife and I just returned to the Phoenix for their dim sum as it is the best that we have found in the Midwest. As a child she would go to Chinatown in New York for weekend dim sum and I was spoiled by dim sum in San Francisco's Chinatown when I lived near there. We found the Phoenix... More

I took a group of people to The Phoenix Restaurant this past week. The food was excellent! We ordered about 6 different entrees and shared as a group. The neighborhood is a bit 'iffy' but overall our experience was a good one. We used "Uber" after our dinner and had a driver there within 5 minutes to take all 6... More

there are so many restaurants in Chinatown to choose from, but each time we have eaten at the Phoenix we have enjoyed every bite from their vast selection. We haven't had the dim sum, but after reading other reviews, we'll have to go back. would definitely recommend for any tourist looking for a relaxing atmosphere with good food.

This property has updated its decor since our last visit. While decor should never be confused with quality of food, our visit affirmed this spot still has the best dim sum we've experienced outside of Hong Kong. This remains a great choice for classic dim sum from chicken feet to foreigner favorites. Very authentic.

We were in China town for lunch and I had seen positive reviews for the Phoenix, so we decided to check it out. Very reasonably priced and the Dim Sum was very good.

I don't really care for it. I know Phoenix has gotten excellent reviews and they are recommended in a couple of travel books, but, for me - nothing was that good. So, I guess Dim Sum is not my thing. The restaurant was so busy (which would indicate that the food is excellent). We had absolutely no clue of what... More

We always stop by for lunch when visiting Chicago, normally on a Friday. You fill in a list for which and how many plates of Dim Sum you want. It was not very busy at 11:15 AM, but the service was incredibly slow. We had to have them pack out final two items to go since we had them pack... More

We love to go there for Dim Sum but we did not have many choices from Dim Sum menu now since the renovation.

I have been to Phoenix many times and used to be the only place i visited. When CAI and Ming Hin opened, I switched to check them out. When Phoenix remodeled, I went on a Sunday, which is the busiest day in Chinatown for all restaurants. The DIM SUM did not seem to be much different than the others, just... More

Phoenix is perhaps one of the most well-known and popular dim sum restaurants in Chicago's Chinatown. It is almost always crowded with many non-Chinese diners. Dim sum on the weekends is served on roaming carts where diners pick the dishes they want to eat. Dim Sum, which literally means "little hearts" or "precious" are the Chinese equivalent of tapas (actually,... More
