I have eaten here, and reviewed the restaurant before. My opininion does not change - it is THE place to eat in this patr of Chicago. The steak is beyond excellent and the other dishes compliment it well. Service is good, prices high but not "break the bank" but I recommend you make a reservation as it gets quite busy.

Had a good experience here during a business trip September 2014. There were a group of 5 of us for dinner. Started with lobster bisque, I would recommend it. I had a Kansas City strip for my entree which was suggested by our waiter. While it wasn't the best I've had, it was cooked correctly & was a large portion.... More

The service and dining experience here is amazing. From the moment you pull up to this historic building, to the time you walk out. You will be amazed! The food is unbelievable and they are so accommodating. My wife and I go here for romantic dinners and it is our favorite!

Had never heard of this place but was intrigued by the idea of an old firehouse being turned into a restaurant. Steakhouse, no less. Was a business dinner so we were upstairs in a private room so didn't get to see much but what I did see was very cool. Also didn't get the full menu but good choices. The... More

Went for steak on a warm Friday evening. I sat outside at a large table in their inner garden. The service was excellent, without rush ( thank you, Paul!). Had a good bone in ribeye and 2 glasses of excellent wine.

Went for Sunday brunch. Expected decent food. Was pleasantly surprised--restaurant exceeded my expectations. I had the ribeye steak sandwich and my husband had the short rib hash. We both had specialty drinks. Moreover they had a kids menu. Friendly and attentive staff. Would absolutely go here again.

Dined there in early September, in the patio. The good: the ambience (outdoor but especially inside, very accurate, classy and comfortable); the wine list; the generous size of the portions. The bad: almost nothing, really, except - not the restaurant fault - the gnats that at some point made us move inside as they have made intolerable staying outdoor). The... More

This was my second visit to this restaurant in 5 years. I started with the FRENCH ONION SOUP and my entre was the 16 OUNCE HERITAGE ANGUS BONELESS RIB-EYE. Let's just say they were both delicious! Probably one of the best steaks I have ever had. Also shared a bottle of cabernet with a friend. The service was excellent just... More

We had a great dinner and wish I'd had a steak because I bet they're great! Loved the building inside and out... cool ceiling.. firepole .. comfortable uncrowded seating. The service was fabulous.. attentive.. readily gave recommendations and made accommodations for special requests. Loved the Lobster Mac and Cheese... as for the Creme Brulee.. I'm more of a purest and... More

A client brought me here for dinner. He told me he was taking me to a "hot" place - he likes his puns. The building is very cool and it's great that they left the architecture as original as possible. Noel was our waiter and he was great... and very honest in his assessments of what to order. I travel... More
