El Barco is a no-nonsense fish and seafood dining experience. The setting and environment is classic family friendly, delicious outing. The quality of the food is the top in every sense. Portions are very generous. You might not be able to finish your dish, but you will take home the leftover. Whole red snapper prepared any way you like, will... More

This is a specialty restaurant, Mexican seafood and fish. The decor is appropriately maritime with stuffed swordfish hanging from the ceiling like some 1950'es rec room come to life. There is meat on the menu and the skirt steak ordered by one of our guests was excellent - but what really shines is the fish which is fresh and never... More

Wow. I loved this place!!' I'm sure they don't need another rave review but I can't help myself! We came with my daughter and son-in-law who had been here before and told us we HAD to come. They were so right! First of all, you must get a pitcher of the Macabrona margaritas. The grand Marnier makes a difference! It... More

I absolutely love this place. The recipes are so deliciously simple. Add a Margarita to that and you got yourself a perfect evening.

Had been hearing about this place for years, but being a South Side of Chicago resident, we were too lazy to take the ride up to the north side to try it. Finally convinced the hubby to bring me here and we have been HOOKED since! THE most authentic Mexican seafood in Chicago - we are of Mexican descent and... More

It is a loud environment but the food is outstanding. Sometimes the service leaves something to be desired but the seafood makes up for everything. Have the pariallada. Eat till you are stuffed and then eat more. It is so tasty and fresh you do not want to miss out. If you are in the area stop. We drive all... More

One thing I noticed is the whole fish craze...everyone orders the Snapper, so it must be good?! The food I've had is pretty tasty, especially the rice. The place stays pretty crowded, but you're seated pretty quickly. I'd recommend going at least once, I'm sure you'll probably return.

A wide selection of seafood at very reasonable prices. I've been here a few times and everything has been delicious. The service isn't terrible, but could be better. In the end, the food more than makes up for it. There are no reservations and the wait on a Saturday around 6:30 was 40 minutes so plan accordingly. Definitely worth it... More

Horrible service, not a family friendly restaurant, service not friendly and the menu does not discribe what youre ordering, i order a kids meal and the menu said it came w a piñacolada drink... When asked the server for his piñacolada, she said it was a joke, i dont care if i have to pay for it, just dont false... More

What a surprise ! Fantastic food, prompt service and a really neat setting. Very generous portions of great seafood! Make sure you bring a good appetite. We had the parrillada for two and it was fantastic - a huge platter of grilled and breaded fish, grilled octopus, skirt steak, vegetables, grilled chicken breast, shrimp, crab legs, onions, fried potatoes, rice and...
