Great Food, Good Prices, Huge Portions

Four of us ate dinner here last night. We arrived at 6:30 and the place was still "quiet" on this Saturday evening but within 20 minutes or so it was full. And, I know why. The food is excellent. The menu is extensive and the atmosphere in comfortable. We shared a few appetizers. An order... read more

As a vegan for 15 years, it is hard for me to find great places to eat. I stumbbled upon this restaurtant through a recommendation from a good friend of mine who is not at all a vegan. I had the vegetarian spring rolls and the coconut soup, both choices were great, very tasty and full of flavor. The Masaman... More

We wanted something close to the MoSI and this is only a couple blocks away. The basil chicken was wonderful. My kids enjoyed the egg rolls, satay, and pot stickers. The service was very good and fairly fast. Reasonably priced also. Great little find.

My child is a student at UChicago and she gets take-out from Snail often. We decided to visit on our last night in town during a recent visit. It is definitely more upscale than your usual Thai take-out place. The service was warm and friendly. And, the food was REALLY tasty. They do a different take on the cucumber side... More

The number of University of Chicago students, including many of Asian background, testifies to the quality/value equation for this nice neighborhood restaurant. There are several nearby Thai restaurants and this was the only one we sampled, but it seemed slightly more upscale than the competitors. We had good food, the staff was patient about explaining the dishes on the menu,... More

This is a restaurant that has an excellent ambiance and food quality. Like all Thai people, those working are extremely friendly and accommodating. We were a party of 6 including a small baby and the experience was completely soothing. As a vegetarian, there are some very good options-- I chose the Raman Broccoli and my son the Raman Vegetables (by... More

This is a wonderful Thai restaurant tucked away in Hyde Park. The food was so delicious, generous servings, very fresh and full of flavor. The service was outstanding. The decor and ambiance was terrific. My family of 4 had dinner and enjoyed their lemon chicken, cashew chicken, beef fried rice and steamed veggies, also the spring rolls. After a full... More

This was a very quiet place for lunch. There were no other guests there at lunch which made me leery but it was great food and service! I had the Bangkok chicken which is breaded and has a sweet/spicy sauce. The breading was crispy and tasted freshly made! It is located near the Museum of Science and Industry.

Very good food for the money. I had a nice dinner with friended for $12 including the tip. I asked the waitress what their best noodle dish was and she said the Drunken Noodes.
