we just to go to Oak Park at least once a week and drove by this little restaurant that look pretty cool from the outside, looks like a castle, once you walk in there the decoration its pretty interesting since its kid of simplistic but remains very Thai oriented which I think its very effective. the food we ordered was... Had dinner for three at Amarind's last week, and the food was sensational. You don't come here for the atmosphere -- although the restaurant is spotless and bright, its ambience is that of a local Thai restaurant (accurate!!). Dishes are beautifully presented, excellent flavors, and a good variety of choices. Since my last visit, they have gone to BYOB. All-in-all,... More

This little restaurant is right at the corner with parking lot on the back. There is also street parking on the side (and parking meters on North Avenue). This has been here for years (I've lived near Oak Park for over 15 years). Their food is consistently good. I've been to other Thai restaurants around the area, and I still... More

Everything I have ever ordered is good except the fried rice dishes, which are greasy and the Tum Yum seafood soup, which lacked body. Otherwise, after 20+ visits, I have grown very fond of all the noodle dishes and curries. Best values is lunch, where you can pick 1, 2, or 3 items for $6.95, $7.95, or $8.95 respectively. Decent... We stopped in here on a Saturday night around 7:30 after viewing the lights at Brookfield Zoo because this place is near to where my daughter lives. The place was pretty empty, probably because there had been a 3+ inch snowfall the previous night. Service was fine and the food was tasty although we only had spring rolls and 4... More

Amarind has consistently good food, but it doesn't blow me away like it used to. On the positive side, the restaurant is spotlessly clean and the staff are both efficient and very pleasant. Some dishes are excellent, others just good. It is still worth a stop if you are in the area.

This was my first visit to Amarind's, and it will definitely not be the last! It had been ages since I had any really good Thai food and I am so glad we came. The restaurant has a cozy casual feel, and the service was very friendly and very efficient. It was my friend's first time trying Thai food and... More

Our favorite Thai in a nice little neighborhood restaurant on North Ave. The website said bring your own wine and they would charge $7/corkage. They in fact had a nice supply of wine and you do not need to bring your own. The menu is book length. lots of vegetarian options. We prefer steamed tofu to fried and always forget... More

I have visited Amarind's often. The food is wonderful, classic....but with a bit of a twist. What you normally get to enjoy is not the typical Thai food that you get from a typical Thai restaurant. It's slightly different...DELICIOUS. Apparently, the head chef is a culinary genius. I've heard that he's studied from the best, and it shows! You can... More
