My burger was good. I also enjoyed their version of french fries, which are basically kinda a potato chip but freshly fried. My friends also enjoyed their food.

I had two wonderful breakfasts here while visiting the city recently -- perfectly cooked eggs with excellent service. A seat by the window with the morning sun streaming in and classical music in the background rounded out the experience.

This is more of an upscale diner with good service and reasonable prices. The BBQ Chicken Salad Sandwich was a summer special and was quite tasty. The portions were huge and more food than I could eat in one setting. The diner is open 24 hours a day on weekends. I returned late on a Saturday night for one of... More

After having a mediocre experience at a nearby place known for its cinnamon rolls the previous days, I decided to look at other neighborhood options. I found a great one! Omelettes on the menu were creative, I had gouda cheese, chicken sausage and broccoli, it was great. Hash browns were fresh and well prepared. Good service. I think I've found... More

Nookie is a nice diner in the heart of the District. This is a great place to dine anytime. Quality food and great service. Nice place to take a break. We ate here twice during the visit. Note to try any one the hamburgers and the chocolate cake.

Spent most of the early 1990s eating here all the time, perfect after party place. Surprised that when I come back all these years later that none of the seating/decor is different than it was in 1991! The service was good. The food was good - if you are looking for good simple American food this is the place. However,... More

Nookies is my go-to brunch and lunch restaurant. Never let down by the service nor the food. Not overpriced and good for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. Definitely check it out after a night hitting Boystown, lots of interesting characters and conversations!

I came here often years ago when I just started coming to Chicago and been for 4 years. Not as good as I remember but still above average. I had a very tasteless Sante Fe Chicken salad and to be honest it was just simply too big a portion.

Quick place to eat with a wide variety of good food. My wife enjoyed her sausage filled omelet and my smokehouse frittata reminded me of Spain. Our waitress was very good, too.

Nookies Tree is a great diner experience. The fare is simple and affordable. The service is good. We've always eaten at the location on Halsted in Boystown. My favorite item is the tuna salad sandwich (solid white albacore on marbled rye bread). Most sandwiches come with soup, which is a nice touch. It's great to duck into Nookies for a... More
