Good experience at Ringleader

Very good place to stop for a fun meal. We are relatively timid sushi eaters. I had a fresh ramen noodle pork broth combination, sushi, chicken teriyaki. The steamed pork dumpling was lovely. We would go again.

I am not a huge sushi, maki, etc fan, but there was a living social deal that I could not pass. We dined on a rainy week day and the place was empty. We did have very good service, but had to endure some really bad music plus a huge projector screen of Japanese game shows. So the "ambiance" is... More

we discovered this place after seeing million dollar quartet at the apollo theater, on picking our menu the waitress asked us if we were starving as she considered what we had ordered far too much, and that we could order the same menu but in half portions, she was correct we couldnt finish the half portions so goodness knows what... My wife and I found this place after seeing Million Dollar Quartet at the Apollo Theater. The sushi was great with lots of selection. The wine by the bottle was the cheapest I have seen just about anywhere in the US we have visited (starting at $10/bottle). Lots of sake selections as well. Staff was friendly. My wife had chicken... The sushi at Ringo's is imaginative in design but not so much in execution. Pot stickers were very good. Grilled squid was excellent also. Miso soup was very watery with little flavor. Teriyaki beef was too well done (server didn't ask how it should be prepared). Hamachi kama was perfectly grilled. Sushi was average to less than average based on... More

There are many sushi places in Chicago! What sets Ringo apart from the rest is that it has it's kitchen in the front instead of its sushi bar. Hemmisan is a true master in Japanese small dishes a.k.a IZAKAYA. Everything is so so good. Love the Yaki Ika(grilled squid), Mentai Cheese gyoza, torched toro.....best of all...SOFT SHELL CRAB RAMEN!!!!! Let... More

I went here with a friend who had purchsed a Groupon, so I cannot comment on price - which seemed average. We mixed it up ordering potstickers, soup, and 4 different rolls (2 signature). Most were not very impressive, bland, and mediocre. The Red Dragon was best - but still not the greatest I have had. I would not return... More

My husband and I went here because we were given a Groupon for a four course sushi dinner. It included our choice of soup or salad, an appetizer, two regular maki rolls, and two special rolls for $20.00. It was a great deal. We had the vegetable tempura, which was perfect, and fairly forgettable seaweed salad and iceberg salad. The... More

This was my first time to Ringo but I had heard many good things so I had good expectations. The service was great. The minute we walked in the door we were greeted and seated. Food was good, especially the appetizers. I would say the best part was the service. Our waitress was very friendly and seemed truly passionate about... More
