Description: Mon Ami Gabi is a classic French bistro and steakhouse. While the favorites are all here in abundance, there is always something new to try from the ever-evolving menu. The traditional menu features classics such as the warm Onion Soup Au Gratin, Frisee & Bacon Salad with a soft-poached egg and croutons, Roast Chicken grand-mere style with mushrooms, bacon and pearl onions, as well as the trademark Steak Frites. To complement the cuisine, an extensive selection of over 80 boutique French wine varietals are served by the glass or bottle from our signature rolling wine cart. Guests will enjoy the airy interior with our large French windows opening out onto the Lincoln Park Conservatory, or in the summer months, the lovely outdoor garden. Please Note: Reservations are taken for indoor seating only. Outdoor patio seating is available on first-come, first-serve bases.

Our table was not ready when we arrived so we ordered a bottle of champagne and enjoyed it in the beautiful hotel lobby in comfortable seating - very relaxing and a nice way to wait. The restaurant was very crowded (Fri night) and noisy, but our server was friendly and did a great job explaining the menu. The escargot and... More

I visited Mon Ami Gabi during Chicago's "Restaurant Week," which meant a more limited menu and somewhat lower prices. The food was great, but the noise level a bit high. Parking is also an issue in this neighborhood.

This was our first time at Mon Ami Gabi, although my mother (one of three of us who ate here last night) has been there many times. The service was excellent and everything we ate and drank was too! Go on Friday night if you want the Dover sole which was truly excellent. I highly recommend the steak frites (NY... More

Fun incarnation of a French Bistro on the steps of Lincoln Park in the old Belden-Stafford Hotel. Try the Dover Sole when it is available or the steak with pomme frites. Reservations are recommended and there is valet parking at the Lincoln Park West entry.

Although we were seated late for our reservation, the service settled down afterwards. Beautiful building across form Lincoln Park Zoo. Service was attentive. Frites were very disappointing, very crispy not authentic at all. Onion soup was very good, cheese on top was excellent. Everything was well seasoned, not overly salty. Escargot could have used more butter & garlic - I... More

This place was chosen to celebrate my wife's birthday. Don't regret a single thing. Food is great, beautiful location.

Steak au poivre and pomme frites--well done. Escargots also great! Fish dishes were as fresh as could be. Largest profiterole dish I ever have seen! Really enjoyed the experience in this very popular spot.

We were staying in the Lincoln Park area so wanted to eat somewhere nearby. Thought we would try this restaurant as the overall reviews were good. I would say for Chicago - prices were comparably to other upscale type restaurants. Our waiter was very friendly. I had the trout and it was very good. Portion size was good so I... More

We've had some good and bad meals at this Lincoln Park neighbourhood restaurant. The service has never disappointed but the food is hit or miss depending on the night and number of other diners. We find it best to go during the week when it's not a crowded. Love to go in warm summer nights because of outdoor seating. Recommend... More

My wife loves their steak frites but I'm tired of the consistently bad tables for two. How can we always be sitting in the gangway with waiters bumping into me the whole meal when the restaurant is only half full. The other issue is the service can be either attentive or not. I'm never sure if they are going for... More
