Description: Mon Ami Gabi is a classic French bistro and steakhouse. While the favorites are all here in abundance, there is always something new to try from the ever-evolving menu. The traditional menu features classics such as the warm Onion Soup Au Gratin, Frisee & Bacon Salad with a soft-poached egg and croutons, Roast Chicken grand-mere style with mushrooms, bacon and pearl onions, as well as the trademark Steak Frites. To complement the cuisine, an extensive selection of over 80 boutique French wine varietals are served by the glass or bottle from our signature rolling wine cart. Guests will enjoy the airy interior with our large French windows opening out onto the Lincoln Park Conservatory, or in the summer months, the lovely outdoor garden. Please Note: Reservations are taken for indoor seating only. Outdoor patio seating is available on first-come, first-serve bases.

Mon Ami Gabi, a Parisian bistro overlooking Lincoln Park across from the Lincoln Park Zoo, is a member of Rich Melman's Lettuce Entertain You empire--so you know you are getting a lot of flash and dash and friendly service and good food at reasonable prices. It is located in the lobby of the old Belden Stratford Hotel. The place was... More

Mon Ami Gabi provides the experience of a Parisian Bistro overlooking Lincoln Park. Most of the seafood dishes are outstanding. So is the steak frites. And so are the escargots. Service was so friendly and nice. Also for a sophisticated restaurant, the place is kid friendly - the mac and cheese is fine for the kids and tasted good to... More

The appetizer scallops and the profiteroles for dessert are worth coming back to......the other dishes are ok as expected in a French bistro, nothing extraordinaire.

I've read the rave reviews and my local Chicago friends have long touted this place, so we had to try it. I thought it was okay and I don't understand the other reviews. The tables are quite close together. The waiter did recommend a lovely bottle of wine for us which we all enjoyed. The baguette with whipped butter was... More

Celebrated an upcoming wedding with family; attention to detail, questions about food and wine was handled in an efficient and courteous manner. Food and libations were excellent.

An ex-Chicagoan recommended this restaurant for my birthday dinner while on a business trip for Got a complimentary dessert with a candle. They start you off with a baguette and whipped butter. Mmmmm OMG, the steak was the best I've ever had with steak frites. My co-worker had the seafood stew and devoured it all. It smelled so good, had... More

had dinner here with friends who live in Chicago. Traditional French bistro menu, fabulous french bistro setting. Very busy, with tables really close together, but the staff handled it excellently. Above average salade frisee with a poached egg. We all had steak frites which were very good, except my husband's, which he said was liver-y. Great baguettes.

Last night we were pleased to visit Mon Ami Gabi for dinner and because it was a perfect evening weather-wise we chose to dine outside. There are lots of steps here, so be mindful of that - there are steps up to enter the building and restaurant, there are steps down to use the lavatory facilities, and there are more... More

The ambiance, linen table cloths, jacketed waitstaff, the waft of elegance and money - what a place to dine. We landed here for a Sunday dinner and enjoyed the beef wellington special. Magnificent! As was everything else about our dining experience. This was our second visit, after a year's absence from visiting Chicago, so when we ended up in the... More
