Description: Mon Ami Gabi is a classic French bistro and steakhouse. While the favorites are all here in abundance, there is always something new to try from the ever-evolving menu. The traditional menu features classics such as the warm Onion Soup Au Gratin, Frisee & Bacon Salad with a soft-poached egg and croutons, Roast Chicken grand-mere style with mushrooms, bacon and pearl onions, as well as the trademark Steak Frites. To complement the cuisine, an extensive selection of over 80 boutique French wine varietals are served by the glass or bottle from our signature rolling wine cart. Guests will enjoy the airy interior with our large French windows opening out onto the Lincoln Park Conservatory, or in the summer months, the lovely outdoor garden. Please Note: Reservations are taken for indoor seating only. Outdoor patio seating is available on first-come, first-serve bases.

Celebrated an upcoming wedding with family; attention to detail, questions about food and wine was handled in an efficient and courteous manner. Food and libations were excellent.

An ex-Chicagoan recommended this restaurant for my birthday dinner while on a business trip for Got a complimentary dessert with a candle. They start you off with a baguette and whipped butter. Mmmmm OMG, the steak was the best I've ever had with steak frites. My co-worker had the seafood stew and devoured it all. It smelled so good, had... More

had dinner here with friends who live in Chicago. Traditional French bistro menu, fabulous french bistro setting. Very busy, with tables really close together, but the staff handled it excellently. Above average salade frisee with a poached egg. We all had steak frites which were very good, except my husband's, which he said was liver-y. Great baguettes.

Great food, great service, nice terrace out front. Great food presentation and a vast wine list. The whole staff was very accommodating and paced just right!

Last night we were pleased to visit Mon Ami Gabi for dinner and because it was a perfect evening weather-wise we chose to dine outside. There are lots of steps here, so be mindful of that - there are steps up to enter the building and restaurant, there are steps down to use the lavatory facilities, and there are more... More

The ambiance, linen table cloths, jacketed waitstaff, the waft of elegance and money - what a place to dine. We landed here for a Sunday dinner and enjoyed the beef wellington special. Magnificent! As was everything else about our dining experience. This was our second visit, after a year's absence from visiting Chicago, so when we ended up in the... More

I almost always eat here when I visit Chicago! The restaurant is always busy and the food is fresh and well prepared. They have a nice wine selection. It reminds me of a bustling Parisian cafe!

Arrived at Mon Ami Gabi and didn't know we were at the correct place as it was difficult to see from the sidewalk. We were a little early for our reservation, so we waited a little bit until they were ready with a table. There were at least 3 large groups 12+ people dining, so I thought the service might... More

I had heard many good things about this restaurant, and decided to try it when I visited Chicago, first in April with a friend, and again in June with other friends. The April visit provided good food, a lovely setting but somewhat slow service. Not objectionable, but a little slow. However, the June visit was not good. First, my husband,... More

This little and hidden restaurant, is such a wonderful place., nice patio, excellent food. The escargot were great and the steak au poivre outstanding! They have something for every taste! Not fit for big parties (or at least I didn't see a room for big parties) but it's a great place!
