Mon Ami Gabi is a classic French bistro and steakhouse. While the favorites are all here in abundance, there is always something new to try from the ever-evolving menu. The traditional menu features classics such as the warm Onion Soup Au Gratin, Frisee & Bacon Salad with a soft-poached egg and croutons, Roast Chicken grand-mere style with mushrooms, bacon and pearl onions, as well as the trademark Steak Frites. To complement the cuisine, an extensive selection of over 80 boutique French wine varietals are served by the glass or bottle from our signature rolling wine cart. Guests will enjoy the airy interior with our large French windows opening out onto the Lincoln Park Conservatory, or in the summer months, the lovely outdoor garden. Please Note: Reservations are taken for indoor seating only. Outdoor patio seating is available on first-come, first-serve bases.

Great place for a celebration

We were celebrating a college graduation, so I wanted things to be especially nice - and this is a good place for a special celebration. Ambiance, service, menu, wines - all top notch. As much as I want to give this place a 5, I only mustered a 4. First - the weather was nice so we were able to... read more

This location is the original, and the most intimate. Service is very good but not quite great, as most staff seem to have been around for 30 years, and seem to be willing to max out at 85% effort. But that's all part of the charm. Marsannay red wine with a blue cheese steak frites....you can't go wrong.

Went for Sunday brunch, no buffet but all ala carte entree's with a nice mix of breakfast and lunch items. Good atmosphere (particularly for a chain, something LEY does very well), good food and very good service. A little chilly to sit outside but it would certainly be appealing on a warmer day.Only disappointment was they had run out of... More

Our son invited us to this wonderful restaurant for a Sunday brunch. What a memory we now have. The decor is all French and you truly feel as though you are dining in Paris. The menu offers several brunch entrees which on the surface resemble standard fare. But, they are not. Our table ordered Steak Benedict, Omelette Lorraine, Croque Madame... More

The food quality was outstanding, but the menu didn't have many options. Service staff was prompt and very friendly.

I went to Mon Ami Gabi for the first time yesterday evening. I was disappointed: - the food was below average: I took the "special" Steak-Frites. The steak was thin, overcooked and hard; the French fries (frites) were thin and overcooked. However, the petite salade was fine and the profiteroles good; - the place was too noisy: The restaurant was... More

Dinner here was like eating in a Parisian bistro without the plane ticket. Though a little on the pricey side the meals are always reliable and filling. Multiple varieties of Steak Frites are a menu staple with chicken and fish dishes as well. Specials are also available but arriving after seven for dinner lessens your chances for these. Service is... More

Wonderful cozy restaurant. One of the best meals we have had in a long time. Onion soup, Steak Frites- Bordelaise and and Bernaise was perfectly cooked. Service perfect. Was going to leave then decided to sit in the bar for another drink and dessert. Will put it first on our list next time in CHI.

I went there for restaurant week yesterday and had a fine meal, but also had the marvelous services of Sasa, who helped me with my dietary restrictions and took the time to converse with me since I was a single diner, even though they were quite full. I will be returning
