This is my barometer for real tapas, after living in Spain. Any other place is judged by this. Their menu changes occasionally. They have a monthly flamenco show and a paella cooking demonstration. Prices are reasonable.I have gone here sine they first opened. years ago.

Saturday night after a visit to Second City can be busy at Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba. When we arrived at about 6:30 without reservations, we were told there was a 2 hr wait. If you find yourself in the same situation, here's a little known fact, just head for the bar area. You can sit at the bar or better yet find... More

I make 3 to 4 business trips to Chicago per year and I like to sample the different restaurants in the city. One restaurant that was always on my "go to" list was Cafe Ba-Ba-Reba but, somehow, we always ended up going somewhere else. On the most recent trip to Chicago we finally made it to Cafe Ba-Ba-Reba. I have... More

I really love this place and I honestly never get tired of going. I've take a lot of out of town friends and family here and they love. You may want to make a reservation due to the fact that this place is pretty popular and the wait time for a table can get a little annoying. They have awesome... More

Tapas is a great concept and they've been doing them here for over two decades. Goat cheese is brilliant, as are most all the dishes if you like the basic ingredients of them (heck, even if oyu aren't sure and you just know you like robust, flavorful food in manageable portions, you can order many, many dishes and share/get a... We went for lunch on Sunday. They have a brunch menu and limited tapas menu. We tried several items. My sister enjoyed the gazpacho special. The lamb kava s were chewy but flavorful. The stuff mushroom filling was good but the mushrooms tasted like they weren't fresh and had a fishy flavor. The tenderloin with blue cheese was the best... More

As someone who lived in Spain for several years, the food is very authentic and terrific. The sangria is good, but not outstanding (needs some brandy and more juice), but the tapas are terrific. The spicy shrimp, croquettas, etc. all yummy. Besides, it sits in the middle of a great shopping area, so do some shopping and then take a... More
