I was very disappointed in the quality of the burger, I would've preferred a McDonalds burger. The buns were mostly hard and stale.
Had a cheeseburger at the "world famous" Billy Goat. The beef patty was overcooked and as thick as a piece of paper. No lettuce, no tomato. I'd rather eat at Mcdonald's than go back to that joint.
Our large group was squeezed into a small room and the waiter played the part of the "you take what I bring you" guy. Most people got the drinks they ordered, but not all, including me. The only food option was "cheeseburger". And the burger was processed meat on a big bun. I know the place is supposed to be... More
Our large group stopped here for burgers on recommendation of a local. outdoor seating available. Nothing fancy, but that is not what you go there for. You order your burgers (single, double, triple) and top your own. The serving area kind of reminded me of the soup nazi episode on Seinfeld. :) Enjoy!
This place is a joke. Food is horrible and it's a dive. Back history related to the hex on the cubs. John Belushi incorporated the Cheezborger refrain into a comedy skit and since then tourists make this a stop on their Chicago itinerary. A novelty. Take tums.
I'd rather eat a slider from White Castle. One bite of the burger and it went right into the garbage. No taste, completely dry and the bun was disgusting. Not worth it.
Having watched so many skits about this place, I knew I had to visit it. It truly is a dive but a great dive that has been visited by everyone who is anyone that has passed through Chicago. The cheeseburgers are good too. Worth a visit - but go to the real one not the one on the pier.
The burgers were definitely affordable but not very tasty. The patties are really thin and greasy and the buns we got were stale. If you're going in to hear "Cheezborger" tossed around, this is the right place. The staff is fun to watch at the grill but I would only go back for a beer at the bar (where there... More
This is a great experience for those that remember the Saturday Night live skit. A Chicago original. I would recommend going to the original location rather than the one at the Navy Pier. REMEMBER, "they don't have fries". The Cheezborrgers are great. One other thing is that if you or someone you are with cannot do stairs then DO Not... More
No frills here. Order a relatively inexpensive cheese burger from 1 to 4 patties and chips, potato that is, not fries. Quick from order til receiving food. Nothing of note for the decor. Very plain. View from patio nice of city but can put you right next to a very people crowded walkway
