A must eating place even from the suburbs

Heard this place was good so gave it a try. Bar service while waiting for our table was excellent. But once at the table, we had barely been seated when a fast talking waitress appeared ready to take our order. Our thoughts of a relaxing meal quickly evaporated. The evening continued at a hurricane pace with overbearing service. The food... More

Tried Zia's tonight since I've got a few favorite eateries in Edison Park already, and the reviews of this one looked good. The place was loud and busy on a Wed night and the hostess told us it was $5 for appetizers tonight in the bar area. But since it was very crowded and we came for dinner anyway, she... More

I put a lot of faith in the reviews for everything. So we were really looking forward to trying Zia's, made a reservation for 6pm and was disappointed from the beginning. The place is big with way too many tables. We walked past many empty tables to be taken to the back corner in between the kitchen entrance and the... More

We eat here often, and the service and the food are always very good. A good selection of Italian wines, and a nice dessert menu. Food is very good -- but not terribly adventurous. Just the basics done very well.

This is a wonderful restaurant with homemade Italian pasta, quaint decor, and the feeling of an Italian villa. My husband and I have been going here for over 5 years and often bring visitors to Chicago with us when they are in town. The food is delicious, the service is great, and the atmosphere makes you appreciate the small town... More

This is a perfect example of a restaurant that will beckon you back the next time that you are in the area. Great atmosphere along with a menu that will satisfies everyone's taste. My wife and I enjoyed a lunch with our daughter in December and I would like to go back for dinner on our next trip. Service and... More

Just moved to Chicago and trying out Italian restaurants. Started off with a mixed salad that we shared. Portions were good (not too much) and salad was light. We shared a speck, mushroom pizza but they call it a flatbread. It was a nice dish to share but wouldn't have it for a meal onto itself unless you were eating... More

I am not ordinarily a big fan of "neighborhood Italian" sorts of restaurants. They tend to be filled with fairly generic lasagna, pasta, pizza, etc. But this was a meal to remember. From the appetizer, to the salad, to the main dish, to the dessert--every course was memorable and tasty and unconventional. I was there with a group of 30... More
