The food was good but it was overshadowed by the horrible service. The servers were extremely rude and only came by every half hour. There is plenty of good food elsewhere in Chicago so I will never be going back to Erie Cafe.

We had dinner here on a couple of occasions, the food just excellent, have to be the best steaks in town. Served by friendly and efficient staff, we look forward to our next visit.

This was an excellent spot to host a large group of important clients. There is a large private upstairs dining room with its own bar, to provide an intimate atmosphere. Wait service was excellent. A must have appetizer is the grilled Kalahari. They are served in a spicy broth that begs to be soaked up with a piece of bread.... More

What a great spot! I had the Surf and Turf and it was unbelievably good. The service was outstanding, although they aided and abetted me drinking more wine than I should have. Good environment for a business meeting. Would definitely go back!

If you are looking for a great meal with excellent service, this is the place. Their prime rib on the bone is huge, the rest of their steaks are great, as are all their other dishes. The service is always great and they will go the extra if you are celebrating a special occasion. Better than all the other steak... More

One of the best steakhouses around. I have been to Gibsons, Ruth Chris, David Burkes and many more and although those are good options Erie Cafe is by far the best in Chicago!!! Their steaks are so flavorful and at such an amazing price. My wife and I always come here when we are in the mood for steak and... More

Needed a great steak while in Chicago, a town rife with good steakhouses. Based on some great reviews chose to try Erie Cafe for the first time. I am darn glad that I did. A better than average Malbec paired wonderfully with the juicy, but crusty, and perfectly cooked strip steak. The creamed spinach ordered on the side was some... More

Old school Chicago. We felt like it was gangster days. Dark but just right. Very quite on the night we dined, but the service and the food was spectacular. The Prime rib covers a plate, and it was a very large plate. Perfectly prepared and our server was very attentive.

Excellent service and usual good food. Have been here before and had excellent food, this time steak and lamb not quite as good. It was well prepared but doing have quite the flavor as previous meals. Overall value still very good.

When you walk in this looks like a place the locals visit. It's location is sort of tucked away and perhaps not a lot of tourists find it. The location is right on the river and in a district that looks like warehouses. It was about a 15 minute walk from the merchandise mart and easy to get to... The... More
