We dined at the Erie Cafe the other night. The location made it very convenient. The food was excellent: fresh and tasty. I really like the ambience of this restaurant.

I had reservations about eating here but went along with the crowd. Well, it was most excellent--the filet special was perfectly cooked and the sides were to die for. Add in the Bordeaux Marjolaine wine--top notch--and don't leave the place without one bit of cheese cake. I would eat here again anytime. One of the best business dinners I've had... More

Really enjoyed our evening at EC- service was outstanding, steaks cooked perfectly, they allow us to bring in our own wines...the calamari app is about the best calamari ever!

We attend the National Restaurant Show every year in Chicago and its always a game to find a better steakhouse. While this might not be the best or most expensive steakhouse in Chicago... its our favorite. Its off the beaten path and is full of locals who live near by. They have a nice big Bar with "Chicago Friendly" Bartenders.... More

The Erie Cafe is a good traditional Chicago steakhouse. The menu has enough variety that nearly anyone can find something to like. They specialize in steaks and chops, but the seafood is also good, try the linguini with white clam sauce. Above average service and a good atmosphere.

I was invited here to attend a vendor dinner during Graph Expo (printing trade show) this week. I was initially impressed with the look and feel of this place. We were in a private back room which was huge, and reminded many of us of a Wisconsin Supper Club. Lots of interesting memorabilia on the walls including much in the... More

As another reviewer suggested, Erie Cafe may be mainly a steak place - however it is definitely also a liver place (best ever). Sitting in their outdoor dining space is a joy. Also great for lunch

I found Erie Cafe strictly by accident one year ago while visiting Chicago. I finally made it back to dine there and I was not disappointed. I was immediately seated, handed a menu and chose chicken parmigiana, spaghetti and a house salad, along with a glass of Estancia Cabernet. I don't get too excited when it comes to chicken parm,... The ambience is lovely. The service was great as was the wine (at very reasonable price points). My husband's steak was great, the stuffed clams were delicious. Sadly my veal marsala and side of pasta with marinara was lacking in taste. Stick with the steak choices and you will have a great meal.
