Good Coffee! Comfortable, leisurely breakfast

Large variety and very good coffee. We were a large group but were served very quickly and everything was good. The thin panini sandwiches are very good. I like the sausage and my son loved the bacon.

We stayed at the nearby Courtyard Marriott a block away. My wife had the Anaheim Scramble and I had the French Toast. The scramble was delicious and more than ample serving. The French Toast was like a delicious bread pudding with large chunks of yummy apples inside! We definitely will be going back!

The Corner Bakery is walking distance from the Palmer House Hilton and offers a great selection of breakfast dishes. The food was tasty, if not exceptional and their coffee was decent. Compared to the cost of a hotel breakfast this was a great value, if not exactly inexpensive. We recommend it as a great choice for breakfast or brunch. If... More

Good--Nice decor. Food came to table promptly. Food--We had a breakfast and a lunch here and nothing was bad but nothing was particularly good either.

$10 per person for scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, fruit and toast with bottomless coffee - excellent value!

We walked toThe Corner Bakery Cafe. It was a local cafe. We enjoyed sitting by the window to watch the walkers. There were many choices - sandwiches, bagels, oatmeal, pastries, muffins, etc. it was a great spot for a simple breakfast.

Stopped by here on the way to the Chicago History Museum for breakfast. Had the farmers scramble. Everything was as expected although the portion was much small than you would get at a Denny's or IHOP. Prices were reasonable. Will eat here again if in area.

The paninis were delicious overall the chicken pomodori!!!! It has the perfect combination of sun dried tomatoes, spinach, basil and sauce to satisfy even the most picky of appetites. Beautiful location, clean establishment and friendly service are some of the reasons this place needs to be visited.

Hard to find some healthy and affordable breakfast and lunch items in the city - this is your place! For breakfast the avocado & spinach power panini with freshly scrambled eggs is great. Or my husbands favorite is the Anaheim Panini with eggs, bacon, tomatoes, avocado & cheddar cheese on grilled sourdough. Fresh brewed and unlimited coffee available all day... More

On a recent visit to Chicago we had breakfast at our Hotel on the first morning ( Congress Plaza Hotel) and discovered they can not cook eggs properly and the rest of the offering was terrible, which inspired us to look further afield. We discovered Corner Bakery Cafe, next to the Architecture Foundation Centre, with fresh fruit and yogurt, bacon... More

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
