What a great find! I try to seek out French cuisine when traveling and this sweet spot did not disappoint. The Vol au Vent is my favorite and the staff is very knowledgable about the menu and wine. I make this a dinner stop every time I'm in Chicago.

Really good dinner spot in Chicago. More "French" than other restaurants claiming to be a French bistros I have eaten at. We had the Escargot as an appetizer. The dish was very good-but small. We paired it with a salad to share. I had the Croque Monsieur which was my favorite quick meal to grab when I lived abroad for... More

Was with group of fourteen and we were able to get a reservation and were seated rigth away with no wait. The staff was friendly and accomodating and the food was very good. Excellent Bloody Mary. The menu had a good variety of brunch/lunch fare at 11:00 am.

I met someone for the first time at this old fashioned but hip French bistro. It is a great place for a long, fun conversation in a calm corner of a busy neighborhood. If you can't get to Paris for a steak or a place to raise a toast in their wine, Bistro Zinc is a good alternative. I was... More

Everything about Bistrot Zinc says France, Alsace, and calm. The restuarant has tables well separated with some at the open windows. We went with friends and the six of us had a very relaxed dinner with lively conversation. We all noticed that we could actually hear our conversation as we talked through dinner. The food was great, simple bistro food.... More

Went here with my aunt to meet a couple of her friends for brunch as we toured the city. First impression was that it was a slightly odd combination of modern-hipster and old-fashioned club, between the flower dress and headband on the hostess, and then the servers in their formal uniforms occasionally interrupted by a waitress wearing a flower crown.... This French diner has been here a long time. It is a neighborhood gem! Always love dining here. They serve the classics. Never had a bad meal. Brunch is a must. The interior is full of true French charm and the staff is kind. No patio seating but they open the big windows brining the energy of the street in.... More

When I'm in a new town, I am always on the look out for a nice authentic french bistro or brasserie. This is definitely one of those places that made me happy. I studied abroad years ago, and I always get a nice nostalgic feeling when I come into a place that doesn't mess around. With the decor, and probably... More

I am not much for lamb. But, I had to try this place as it was highly recommended. The sandwish was so delicious. It is a must if you like lamb!

We celebrated a birthday here. Loved that the ambiance was calm and quiet. We could carry on a conversation. The soup, main course, wine and crepe dessert were all delicious. We ate every last drop. The chicken pot pie was outstanding! The Chef said they were a "neighborhood" restaurant. Wish I lived in their neighborhood! Would definitely go back! Maybe... More
