Colleagues and dined here after an evening work event, We had had some appetizers so weren't famished. The menu is not extensive, but there were lots of nice choices. We all opted for a small appetizer and a small entree. I had the pate which was good, though I thought not exceptional. The crepe with chicken and mushroom was also... More

Love this place for so many reasons - great French bistro food, cozy interior, excellent service (by professional servers who have been there for ages), and frequented by neighborhood regulars but still welcoming to all.

A friendly restaurant with good food, Bistrot Zinc was a perfect place to eat our first night in Chicago. My mother loved the chicken crepes, and my daughter really enjoyed her Croque Monsieur. Bistrot Zinc is a lovely restaurant, and we enjoyed their French food.

Bistrot Zinc has been offering its French ambience and cuisine in the so-called "Golden Triangle" area of Chicago's Near North Side for several years. It is one of the most intimate and appealing restaurants in an area saturated with quality restaurants of all types...French, Italian, steak, seafood. What is most fun about dining out with friends is to choose different... More

Setting is classic bistrot and location great, but the food and wine not nearly as good as on a prior visit. Both wines (a rose and a riesling) were a disappointment, as were the mussels (not even served with a nice piece of toasted brioche!). The duck pate was tasty but the butter lettuce salad leaves were wilted and not... More

Arriving to an almost empty restaurant for lunch, we were quickly seated. Service from management was excellent, however, our waiter tended to be a bit aloof. We started with the soup du jour which was a huge bowl of creamy wild mushroom. The pate plate is duck liver and smooth with a large portion. The mother´s roast chicken is an... More

I felt like I was in a bistro in Paris. Our server Chris was delightful. The quiche was yummy and the French toast and mascarpone creme a real treat. We stayed for a few hours chatting without being rushed out. Brunch at Bistrot Zinc made our visit to Chicago a memorable trip.

I picked this restaurant based on some Open Table reviews. Run, don't walk to this restaurant for a meal, any meal. Very accommodating when one of our party was late for our reserved time. A short wait at the bar resulted in great bartender conversation, a delicious basket of homemade potato chips and hard-boiled eggs which seem to be resident... More

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
