fantastic service, top notch, the food....well...

was here for a family dinner event and we did the tasting menus. I was not what I expected. We all were really not impressed. The service was top notch and so very attentive. I would not go back.

We had dinner there a few nights ago. Apparently they recently changed their menu as we were offered a choice of the main restaurant with the tasting menu or the café with an ala carte menu. We chose the tasting menu in the restaurant. The décor in the restaurant is very nice with a wonderful view of the lake. My... More

We dined at Spiaggia last evening, taking a friend for his birthday. I haven’t been since the room was remodeled. If you can improve on perfection, Levy certainly did. The room is now very modernist with uses of white leather banquette seating, white marble and lots of glass. All tables now have a clear view of the lake. All of... More

We booked then looked at the menu and wine list later. A la carte prices for food and wine were atrocious so we opted for the tasting menu and wine pairings. The food and the pairings were great, a very enjoyable evening. The room itself is spectacular. The wine pricing is only surpassed in ridiculousness by some restaurants in Banff.

Although offered a fabulous 8 course tasting menu, and a wine pairing for it, we settled on 4 courses each, one extra in the middle, and a bottle of wine. My Wagyu carpaccio (1st of many dishes I selected partially because Australian black truffles were available) was wonderful, and went magically with our 1999 Ornnathia Tuscan. My husband's striped bass... More

Before the remodel this was our very favorite restaurant in the city. Since the remodel....not so much. It doesn't feel like the fine dining experience that it used to. The food was good, not great. The service was fine but, again, not what it used to be. We did the tasting menu with pairings and neither my husband and I... More

I have been here several times over the years and have never been disappointed in the food or view. The service is excellent. The only downside is that it is somewhat expensive. The Pacific cod was my entrée and was excellently prepared. My wife had the sea urchin risotto which we also enjoyed. I would also recommend Spanish Octopus has... More

Some of the most unique and delicious Italian food in Chicago. It's small servings and expensive but it's certainly to treat yourself to for a special occasion. You have to make a reservation well in advance so don't wait until the last minute.

menus were creative and interesting but the dishes lacked flavor. I've followed Chef Montuano for years but I will give it a break for awhile.

What a great birthday dinner. Arrived on Saturday night for our reservation and was seated promptly. Our Captain took our drink order and explained the menu. We decided the tasting menu with wine accompaniment. Each of 8 courses were presented with an explanation for food and wine. Enjoyed all courses especially the lamb tartar, venison, fish and dessert. Shoutout to... More
