It had been many years since I had dinner at Spiaggia. I had heard they had renovated and thought I would see what they were up to. The restaurant is beautiful. The service was very attentive. However, the food left me disappointed. The portions were very small. One of the dishes I ordered was a pasta dish, and I couldn't even... More

Dined at Spiaggia 12/8 and enjoyed a wonderful meal. Superior service provided by all, especially David , our server. His promptness and attention to detail was excellent. The meal was wonderful, starting with an assortment of Italian hams and cheese. Risotto followed , done well. The steak upon garlic polenta was prepared perfectly. Dessert was wonderful, assorted gelatos and a... More

The authenic Italian restaurant is a good place for great tasting food! I had Ravioli and duck and never tasted food so good! It is very pricey though. My check was about 100 dollars and I didn't even have coffee and dessert.

Although Spiaggia recently underwent renovations, it sin't really that different. Thy changed the bar, added a charcuterie station, and added a lounge, but the seating and room are pretty much the same. More importantly, the food is about the same. They switched from solely degustacion to a choice between that or al a carte. The food continues to be very... More

I have had many a very good dinner at this restaurant over the years but our recent visit confirmed a continuing slide that may well result in this restaurant losing their 1 Michelin star. Certainly if I was the inspector on this occasion it would have. We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated in a lounge area... More

This outstanding but expensive Italian fine dining restaurant is very very good. The service is quick, efficient, a lot of wait staff (thus the prices to pay them all) and it starts a little snooty and pretentious, but after awhile everyone warms up and gets a sense of humor. Folks, life is too short to be that full of yourself.... More

The technique, style and culture and preparation of the culinary style is epic. Your senses will let you know how lucky you are to dine here. Italian done perfect, even for the heavens.

A very expensive restaurant. The sort of place where if they ask if you would like to start with a glass of champagne, it will cost you $29. It will be a good glass, of course, but I pay $18 for a much better glass in San Francisco, at Zuni Cafe. Probably that's because they never got a star. We... More

I was in charge of finding a good Italian restaurant for our group of five travelers. Knowing the varied nature of the group, I thought this place would fit the bill. It definitely did. We were seated in a booth in the exact center of the restaurant, which took advantage of the big windows looking out over Michigan Avenue and... More

We arrived in town late and were looking for an Italian restaurant. We found Cafe Spiagga on Trip Advisor and gave it a try. We accidentally found Spiagga first, not realizing that Cafe Spiagga was separate. Even though it was almost 9 Spiagga was full (or it could have been we were still in our airplane travel attire). Cafe Spiagga... More
