Great food, slow service

We booked for lunch, it was a business event, and we were on a schedule. Food was good but service was too slow.

My organization hosted a private dinner for 17 last night at Spiaggia. I knew when I left my hotel down the street and told the doorman where I was going and he reacted with "Spiaggia?! I'm jealous!" that I was headed somewhere good. We had four courses prix fixe: salad, gnocchi with boar rage (SO incredibly good. I could have... More

It was Superdoc and my first visit to this wonderful restaurant, but it won't be our last. Effortlessly wonderful. We had the Tasting Menu and Flight of Wine. Both excelled. On arriving we were sat in a booth overlooking the lower tables and out across the lake (shrouded in darkness but we knew it was there). The staff were attentive... More

That was the most unsatisfactory, expensive dinner ever! Food was way too pretentious and portion sizes were tiny. I was expecting traditional Italian food and this was anything but thst.

First-time dining experience at Spiaggia with my husband did not disappoint. We liked the clean design, especially that every table has a view of the lake. No jackets required, but if you show up in Dad jeans and a baseball cap, like one fellow diner that night, you will stand out, and in a bad way. Spiaggia is very well-run.... More

My daughter picked Spiaggia for a special dinner when I visited her in Chicago for a weekend. Entering the building feels like getting into an office building and when we found the entrance things changed quite a bit. A great entrance with wine bottles behind glass, however the Maitre d' was busy chatting with a group at the bar and... More

I want to start by saying the staff/service was good and I have no complaints everyone was knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant has been redone to a more casual "suburban" style reinforced by the number of very casually dressed (untucked shirts and jeans) diners that made up a significant number of guests for a Saturday evening. Gone are table cloths... More

In reviewing this restaurant I really do have mixed feelings. The decor is very nice with a good location overlooking Michigan Ave. It is contemporary but still welcoming and we were seated at a table by the window offering a nice Chicago view. The service is professional and they do their best to describe the dishes in detail when serving,... More

In town for Conference. Selected restaurant from James Beard finalist list. Wife and I agreed, best dining experience we've had. Food was exquisite, sensual and decadent. Great flavors, textures, and presentation. We each had an antipasti (tortellini soup and winter greens), a primi (carbonara and risotto), shared segundi (beef), and shared dessert (the small plate and we added a cheese),... More

My wife and I shared a fantastic meal during our visit to Chicago. Chose items a la carte and paired glasses of wine with each course. The ravioli really stood out. All the food was impeccable. Tasted great and looked great. The service was very informative and helpful. If you are a Foodie you will appreciate this excellent restaurant.
