We arrived in town late and were looking for an Italian restaurant. We found Cafe Spiagga on Trip Advisor and gave it a try. We accidentally found Spiagga first, not realizing that Cafe Spiagga was separate. Even though it was almost 9 Spiagga was full (or it could have been we were still in our airplane travel attire). Cafe Spiagga... More

We had the tasting menu. It was fabulous. The flavors were unique and exciting and complementary. The service was great.

Big round white plates with about 3-4 oz. of food in the middle. Not bad, not that good. Italian? Not any Italian my grandmother would have cooked. The oil that was put on the table congealed. Very weird. Positives were the slice of bread placed on the bread plate and the free water. LOL. Forget this and go to their... More

Wow. This is really high end food with the whole package. The food tastes great and looks great. The truffle stuffed Ravioli is fondly remembered. Wife and I shared everything, it was a taste sensation. had very good assistance pairing wine to each course.

The good: Excellent food. Leisurely pace (3-hour dinner) The bad: Servers made a few minor mistakes (interrupting unnecessarily, dripping water on a diner), bathroom bins were overflowing, and here's the big one -- ridiculously small, skimpy wine pours. Come on, Spiaggia, when you're charging this much for a glass of wine, the least you can do is pour a little.... More

My wife and I went to Spiaggia during out weekend trip to Chicago. My wife told them it was my Birthday and they had a custom printed Menu waiting at the table which was a nice touch. Our appetizers were good and then we got our pasta, my wife had the truffle gnocchi and i had the foie grad ravioli,... More

Look, you don't need me – some random Italian American New York transplant – to tell you about Spiaggia. It is a two-star Michelin rated restaurant with a seriously devout following. This place is highly recommended regardless of what I think. But please allow me the courtesy to tell you about the "experience" of going to Spiaggia on a quiet... More

We dined here the last of our four night stay in Chicago. I really enjoyed my food (scallop, truffle gnocchi, suckling pig that had head cheese, loin, crispy pork belly and soft pork belly), but my wife's entree was okay (salmon that had two bones in it and she did not like the eggplant in it). We had the 20-piece... More

Had dinner last week. Sat at the bar for a glass of wine. Selection by the glass was terrible. Only three offered and none had the flavor of what I consider good white Italian wine. The food was so so. The pasta was bland, nothing outstanding. The steak was good, but a steak knife would have helped. The renovation went... More
