Very good food with European service

Four couples had dinner last Saturday evening. For most of us, it was our first time. Was wondering what dinner would be like because it appears to be a small area off the lobby. But, once inside it is larger than it appears and the decor is very nice. The tables are done in black and silver... read more

Fantastic Fois Gras and Carrot Velouté!! Incredible service and wine list. Daily specials are a challenge to choose from... The cheese trays are delightful and I highly recommend.

We didn't have a chance to eat dinner here but the breakfasts and lunch were really good. Next time will try and book a table for dinner.

We stayed at the Sofitel and had breakfast and lunch at this hotel and I can't get over how delicious and amazing everything was! One of my all time favorite spots now!

The Benedictine eggs were perfect, the bread and the coffee... uhmm. Even do the place was packed, the service was very fast, they gave us a table right away. The place is lovely with a lot of natural lightning, which I love.

Excellent food and service. Not as crowded as I would have liked it to be. There were only a couple other tables occupied for Friday night at 8:30pm. My husband and I were able to have a nice romantic dinner still and tried like a dozen things on the menu. All were delicious. We will come back here, maybe on... More

We are in the neighborhood - so stop by here for meals on occasion. The food is very good - but given the smaller size of their dining room - I think the service could be better. When we were here for breakfast, our food was delivered - but I noticed that my fork was bent. Our waiter never stopped... More

I kind of have an issue with restaurants with limited menus, I often find them a bit pretentious. When I see them most of the times I want to walk away. Since this was a business dinner I didn't have such chance. There is nothing particularly bad about the food. I had a salmon which was okay and my desert... More

I met a friend and her daughter for a delightful lunch. We were greated with Bonjour and the service continued to be pleasant and attentive. We all had salads "entre size" and they were quite tasty. For the past 3.5 years we have walked past this restaurant/cafe that is part of the Sofitel Watertower, but never ventured in. I'm Happy... More

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
