Good food. Bustling, loud place

Went there for a business dinner during my first visit to Chicago. First time having tapas. There were 10 in our party. Service was good; food was good. We tried many dishes and none disappointed: beef, pork, scallops, octopus, duck, empenadas, goat cheese to name a few. Good sangria too. The... read more

This is a very fun tapas style place. It's always busy, but it's fairly large, so there is always room. They easily accommodate larger groups. They have great sangria pitchers and great dishes. From appetizers to deserts, they have delicious choices. The staff is very pleasant. We have visited several times and always had a great experience.

I was looking forward to this visit - friends recommended it highly -- even recommended specific dishes. I have to say that the food I did have was good. The spicy potatoes were a hit. The calamari -- good, not overcooked, but not spectacular either. The goat cheese in tomato sauce was fine. The shrimp in garlic were good --... More

I have been eating at the cafe iberico for over 20 years. It is my favorite Spanish tapa restaurant outside of Spain. Great food, fast and good service. A must when in downtown.

Hands down one of my favorite places in the city to grab a drink and a small bite to eat! Pitchers of sangria for $17 in River North is a steal!!! I highly recommend the red over the white, and absolutely love their mojitos! You can come as just a couple or a large group of people and easily be... More

I had already been sufficiently stuffed at Rok Akor, but the crew was in want of good sangria. The Sangria was not as sweet as preferred, but the crowd was endless flowing into this place, a very popular Tapas joint. I will have to come next time for the food and give it a try. I love great places you... More

Great food, plenty for vegetarians, including vegitarian Paella! Group of four (3 meat eaters) ordered 10 tapas dishes and shared them. Portions a very big for tapas, everything was amazing. My favorite was goat cheese dish. Only drawback was VERY LOUD. Music was so loud everyone in restaurant was yelling to be heard at their own table. We had a... More

We waited a frustratingly inordinate amount of time for literally each thing we ordered. And we weren't even in any hurry! I ordered lamb and after 45 minutes or more of waiting for it, flagging the waiter only to be told it had been burned and another one was coming but then not getting it, I canceled it and we... I have been before, but just went again and was just so very impressed with the service that I wanted to share. They were extremely attentive and more than willing to explain anything. The food as always was amazing as well, something to for every taste!! Definitely strongly recommend a visit here.
