Went for dinner on a Friday night around 6:30 and was pleasantly surprised to have no wait. Went with a group of 5 and were seated right away in the main dining room. We ordered a variety of tapas for the table (aceitunas, solomillo, calamari, pulpa a la plancha, chorizo... and something else) - all very good. The calamari was... More

On our recent visit to Chicago we had the opportunity to visit Café Iberico. It was highly recommended by some friends. The restaurant is accessible via the brown and red subway line, just three to four blocks from either. The dinning room is big and even though it was packed it did not feel as crowded. The food is affordable,... More

Superb Spanish tapas as freshly crafted, from fine ingredients as you will find outside of Spain. Really solid food. Favorites tonight were: 1) Galician Style Octopus pieces served on potato slices: Pulpo Gallego 2) Shrimp with garlic 3) Bread wedges smeared with crushed tomato then topped with Serrano ham and Manchego cheese The only downside is this restaurant is very... I've been going to this place for over 10 years now. Not only is it located in wonderful River North, but it has consistently amazing food. It's Spanish tapas, but they also have entrees, and delicious desserts as well. The price is pretty reasonable for downtown Chicago, and I recommend sitting on the first level for a lively, multicultural atmosphere.... More

been here a few times...last with party of 15....great to share all items which were quite authentic (for america tastes) and good sangria (white---go for it!) and good staff service but slightly pushy trying to get us to buy more food than we could eat/drink....some items this time were bit greasy and they did not have any mackerel...overall a good... Very disappointed as it came with good recommendations. Menu was uninspired and food was mediocre. Service was surly -- really, we are sorry we bothered to come in!

The Iberico has a big range of dishes, and is obviously very popular. I wasn't that impressed. Maybe I just wasn't feeling it that evening, but the dishes were bland (particularly the soup special, a cream of lobster--no discernable lobster shreds, just cream), it was noisy, and it seemed to take forever for each part of the service. I give... More

Was back at Cafe Iberico last night with friends. It is my favorite tapas place in Chicago, but to be fair to the others, I rarely try any other place! We liked everything we had and here are a few of the top ones (we only did warm plates): the dates stuffed with goat cheese, the lamb chops, the scallops,... More

I love Spanish restaurants with tapas so went to this restaurant early on a Saturday night. It has several rooms and was extremely noisy. This wasn't helped by a shrieking child at the next table. The wait staff is very professional and efficient but each of the dishes we ordered was under seasoned and bland. The wine list was good... More
