Morton's is reminiscent of the traditional steakhouses that have dominated Chicago's food scene in the past. You can feel the history when you walk inside, especially with the pictures of famous celebrities and Chicagoans on the wall. The great start doesn't end at the atmosphere ,as the food is incredible, some of the best steaks I have had. You can... More

I had dined at other Morton's so it was time to enjoy a meal at the original. The entry down the stairs takes you to another time, back to the old school charm that sums up Morton's so well. A glass of wine, and a jumbo lump crab cocktail to start, follow by the Filet with Scallops on the side... More

We went to Morton's Steakhouse in Chicago on 1050 North State Street, Chicago. When I booked my reservation on Opentable I told them we were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary. When we walked in the Hostess was very friendly and wished us happy anniversary. We were seated in a comfortable booth. Our server was extreamly friendly and welcoming. The... More

Have had the good fortune to dine here twice. From the friendly welcome to the wonderful food I cannot fault it. I had oysters followed by the bone in ribeye, cooked perfectly and so tender it fell apart. 100% all round

The food Gods are in alignment!!! The taste, presentation, price points, and Waite staff (service) was in perfect alignment during my visit at Morton's!! I felt like I was at a luxury car dealership and they had rolled my car out on the Red Carpet and unveiled it!!! Don't get me wrong, I've eaten at other Steak Houses in Chicago... More

Always a great place for us when we visit Chicago. A must do with very tasty and tender steaks. We like to sit in the bar area which was recently renovated. Attentive staff and highly recommended.

Generally I think Morton's has good food, BUT...quality control is definitely lacking.I was there for a business lunch - Like most everyone at my table, I ordered Caesar Salad, Filet, mashed potatoes and dessert. Yet my salad did not come with any cheese or toast point as did all the others - go figure --- no big deal but... However,... More

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
