By far one of my favorite places in Chicago to get a delicious, hearty meal. The manager, Armando, makes you feel like family. Don't be turned-off by the way it looks--don't they say 'never judge a book by its cover'? Although it isn't the 'prettiest' place in town, the food is by far the best! The service is also noteworthy.... More

The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is perfect. Best calamari I've ever had. A must see old school restaurant. Go hungry.

An Italian restaurant is always a 'go to' for us and this restaurant was suggested by our daughter's boyfriend. The service was excellent, the food options plentiful and the prices average for Chicago. The servings are very large and could be shared because each of the 4 of us took about 1/2 of our portions home. We had the Risotta... More

This place had a great, casual vibe starting with a very friendly, funny server who helped us pick our appetizer and meals - all great choices. Big thanks to Tripadvisor reviewers because I never would have tried this placed based on walking by on the street. But once inside, it's smells to die for from the visible kitchen, great bread... This was a wonderful restaurant with the quintessential Italian atmosphere. The bread, fried zucchini appetizer, risotto with goat cheese, Penne alla Vodka and Vitello di Franco were amazing! Our waiter, Jack, was fun to interact with. We got there via the bus from the Loop - easy and quick. It will be our first pick next time we visit Chicago!

This was hands down some of the best Italian food I've ever had (and my Grandfather is Italian). I got the eggplant parm, and my friends got the chicken parm. We all loved it, and tried our best to finish (but the portions were very large). The restaurant has such a homey, comfortable atmosphere - I actually felt like I... More

My friend insisted that we eat here after hearing it is the best Italian in Chicago, and it was simply amazing! The authentic lasagna is to die for. We also had grilled chicken in a lemon butter sauce with with fresh spinach that was mouth watering. The restaurant has a cozy neighborhood atmosphere with many guests who were regulars and... More

My wife was very disappointed as, given it's ratings, we expected a lot more. For anyone staying near the Miracle Mile, the restaurant is somewhat out of the way. It's more like a large neighborhood bistro than a fine dining restaurant. It felt like we were eating in a restaurant that was still back in the 50's. It could use... More

The food was not great but still not bad at all. We had a three course meal and every plate was a bit tasteless and cost a lot. Good selection of wine and a cool atmosphere!

We made a reservation at this restaurant in Chicago, since it was the best rated for italian food. I'm italian, and to me this was not very good italian food. There were six of us in our party and five of us ordered different things, and they were all pretty disappointing. My husband ordered pasta that had onions, and sausage... More
