Great Italian Dinner

Cozy, lively environment with lost happening. Waiters were efficient and helpful, and dinner was fabulous. Steaming hot - fresh pasta, salads, cheese selections. Good wine list. Classic Italian at a very reasonable price. WIll go back many times!

We were visiting Chicago and went with another couple that lives in Chicago. I found this restaurant on-line and it so happened that the other couple picked out this restaurant. We had to take a cab here from our hotel. Not too far away. The street that it is on is not appealing at all. The outside of the restaurant... More

Best place in Chicago to get a feel for what is the perfect Old School Italian Restaurant. The service was flawless and the plates were piled high. The grilled calamari appetizer was very good. Also had the eggplant parm and WHAT a dinner that was -- absolutely covered in browned and bubbling cheese. Even though stuffed to the near maximum,... More

The food? Decent. It's not fancy, nor particularly cheap. Service was decent, and they were kind to my 5 year old daughter. Interior decoration is old school. Looking for fancy? It's not here. On our visit, we found a group of four guys sitting in the bar, watching tv. When they saw me looking around for a server, they were... More

We were recommended to eat at this restaurant when in Chicago and I have to say the food was delicious. The appetisers were delicious, I had octopus which was really, really good, fried in olive oil with garlic and rosemary, Pam had escarole and sausage which was quite delicious and Ben had antipasto. Each plate we shared and it was... More

And, once again, this is why I love TA. I took my son here...we arrived early and had to wait for an hour (dinner starts at 5). So very glad we waited! This is not a posh place. IT is very homey and relaxed~~like eating at your Italian friend's home. We had Calamari, Claims and two Chicken entrees (apparently it... More

Came here 4 1/2 years ago and loved it so came back on a recent trip. Did not disappoint! Food is still great. Loud and boisterous but hey, it's an Italian restaurant. Wouldn't expect anything less. Definitely need to make a reservation, especially around the weekend and still should expect some kind of wait as they are extremely popular and... More

What can I say? This place is a gem. Every time I visit Chicago I make it a point to have dinner there. They have some Sea Bass that is not on the regular menu that is to die for. It is a little noisy and crowded but has the charm of an authentic Italian kitchen. Make your reservations in... More

Had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. The food was delicious and the restaurant itself was very welcoming. The only bad thing I would say about it, that I smelled cigarette smoke during my entire meal, there was a bar next door and somehow the smoke made it over to the restaurant. The prices were great!

In a word, this place is awesome. It is just west of River North and thus, not subject to the pretentiousness that can be associated with most of the restaurants in that area. I'm Italian and I grew up on my mother's and grandmother's cooking. That isn't my expectation when eating out, but more of a qualification for my pallet.... More
