Brightened up old school that is still good

Santorini has been around a long time as evidenced by the yellowing newspaper clippings on the wall. I understand that they recently updated the outside and the inside looks fresh. Below average. Would return or recommend. Nothing was very good-not even the salad. From the appetizer to the dessert, I would say everything was below average.

We go to the lovely Santorini Restaurant in Chicago about once a month. Never disappointed in the food, the service or the atmosphere. We tend to get small plates and share. Favorites include charcoal-grilled octopus, grilled zucchini which is served with a garlicky thick dip, clams and the Santorini salad. Their seafood is the freashest and always cooked to perfection.... More

Santorini has the absolutely best lamb chops I've ever tasted. Succulent, perfectly med-rare; I even gnawed the bones.

Good atmosphere. Good saganaki. Excellent whole grilled fish. So so salad. Great grilled octopus. The best at Greek Town Chicago. Valet parking is great also. Good attentive service too. Good Greek wine selection.

The food was terrific. Flaming cheese, grilled mushrooms, horitiki salad - all very good! My entre was lamb and artichoke. It all came with a wine-butter-lemon hollandaise sauce and the lamb just fell off the bone. Melt in your mouth tender. I recommend trying this place!

I went to this place for the first time on a recommendation from a friend who lives in Chicago. They have a large menu that is reasonably priced. we had the fried cheese as an appetizer which was as great as the flaming presentation. OPPA! I had the lamb chops which were done to perfections. We loved it and will... More

Cold calamari, traditional dishes with little flair, heavy on sauce, light on fresh herbs and vegetables - we were underwhelmed by our experience at Santorini.

we called last minute for reservation on a frigid Sunday night and they accommodated us with a fireplace side table. The sever was very professional and prompt with everything. The food was delicious. We started with grilled octopus, tender and delicious, along with the five cold spreads which were all tasty! The Greek chicken which needs 30 mins. Was tender... More

I have tried some of the chewiest, tasteless, inedible octopus in the past. You'd think I'd learn, but when it's cooked correctly it is tasty and enjoyable to eat, packed with protein and a small amount of fat. Santorini does grilled octopus the way it should be done, tenderized perfectly and then grilled with some herbs and olive oil so... More
