Delicious food, great ambience

A large group of us went for appetizers and dinner. We ordered family style. We had a large variety of appetizers and plentiful portions of tasty dinner dishes, as well as desserts. A number of us had food to take home. The waiters were very attentive, taking care of our every need. Thinking all... read more

I ordered from the special menu and wanted to try traditional Greek lamb. It was really good, the meat falls right off the bone and was tendered and favorable! The vegetable tasted cooked separately. But the Lima beans were super! Great to eat with the bread. Overall a great experience!

I visited the restaurant with 2 work colleagues. The atmosphere was good and there was plenty of food. A little too much dressings for my liking on most of the meals.

My friend, my daughter and I had a wonderful dinner at "Greek Islands" in Greek Town just down the street from Old St. Pat's Catholic Church in Chicago. Delicious authentic Greek cuisine included saganaki an appetizer of fried cheese prepared in a small frying pan and served with great fanfare as the waiters yelled, "Opa!" and lit the pan on... But not very good Greek. Mains of fish and meat are mostly made to order, as is the saganaki; complicated dishes like moussaka are made ahead; sides such as rice, potato and baked (more like stewed) veggies are dispensed from buffet-like warming dishes. Great service, ok cleanliness. Fried calamari was dry and overcooked. Ambiance is loud and crowded.

7 of us went with a reservation for 6:30p.m. We were seated by 6:40 p.m., and it was VERY busy on a Saturday night! All the offerings from drinks, appetizers, main entrees, and dessert, were flawless! The wait staff is amazing....friendly and efficient. The restaurant itself was clean and seating comfortable. We truly enjoyed our evening out. The only complaint... More

Whenever people are visiting and open to trying Greek food, I always want to take them to Greek Islands on Halsted. The food is excellent. I typically order Arni Fournou (sp?) which is lamb. It comes with Greek potatoes but I usually swap it out for rice with the red sauce on top. If you like garlic - and I... More

Six of us visited here while in Chicago on business. Ordered the Family Style Dinner and got to pick out our combination of dishes. Impossible to make a poor choice here. Superb food, attentive service and great atmosphere make this a winner.

Greek Islands is the best Greek restaurant in Chicago. Exceptional service, and authentic food in perfect ambiance. Tiramousalata, grilled octopus, saganaki, gyros and lamb dishes were amazing and reasonably priced. All this and free valet parking make this restaurant a gem!

We took a cruise to the Greek Islands just last month and were hungry for more of the delicious Greek food that we ate there. We found it at the Greek Islands restaurant in Chicago! They had all the dishes that we had come to love on the islands and they tasted as good as we remembered. This is a... More
