A Route 66 classic

This Classic Greek restaurant featured in a book on Route 66 so had to be sampled before we started our drive. We weren't disappointed. The flaming saganaki was a spectacular in its delivery and tasted lovely. Portions of braised lamb, chicken spanaki, spanakopita ad pork tigania were very... read more

Excellent Greek food in downtown Chicago. Everything was fresh, well prepared and seasoned. Homemade Roditas is very good and sneaks up on you ! The restaurant is not fancy nor pretentious, casual dress. Lamb is king here, so if you like lamb, I don't think you will be disappointed. Service was attentive without smothering

Really nice people. Food was not great they did give discount because all the plates of the 7 people went back full. It's like all the food is reheated from the fridge.

We met friends from Chicago area who are regulars at the Parthenon for lunch on a Friday afternoon. It was a completely fun and delicious visit! We started off with Rodytis wine, which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for us, it was very tasty with the meals to follow. We enjoyed the appetizers of saganacki and (pardon... More

Greek restaurants are plentiful along Halstead but there are some which stand out and this is one of them. Good service, food, ambiance, and plentiful portions. Not too busy Friday night during lent.

This is an old-time Greek restaurant, very well established in the Greek Town section of Chicago, IL. The waiters are of Greek descent and very proper. Bus boys are very efficient. The ambiance is very nice. They've several rooms and a banquet room and a bar. Restrooms clean. Very pretty inside. We went on a Fri. night (early dinner). I... More

Great food, cooked in the traditional style. Pleasant wait staff. Lovely ambience. Not our first choice, but definitely our second.

I am Greek and eat regularly in Chicago's Greek Town neighborhood. It had been quite some time since I had visited the Parthenon which I have always viewed as very touristy and only average in food quality. My recent visit did not change my opinion. The first bad sign was that the bread brought to our table was not fresh,... More

Reasonable clean place. Good service and good food. Beer and wine beer prices were high for the quality. Service at our table was friendly, prompt and polite

In anticipation, three of us trudged from The Loop to South Halsted Greektown to try this restaurant. We are of Greek-Canadian heritage and were looking forward to something tasty. The Parthenon was just about the WORST Greek food we've ever had! Service was reasonably prompt. Once seated at the table, we order the set dinner for three. The appetizers came... More
