Forty three seniors on a bus

We went on a bus tour from Frankfort Il to Chicago Il. We had a family style lunch at The Parthenon -great atmosphere. They made a point of showing us the Flaming cheese-Saganaki. Quite a show, plates lined up their arm and then lit on fire. We were than served Skordalia ,eggplant with bread. A... read more

Have visited a couple of times. Free valet parking is a huge bonus especially when traveling with a wheelchair bound father. Do not fail to get the Saganaki. It is delivered with a huge flourish and an OOOOP-A! Gyros are delicious and shishkabobs of all kinds are wonderful. My niece tried the Kotopita and it was marvelous as well.

They reserved a section of the restaurant for our event. All personnel were very kind. Excellent service. They serve several courses. At the beggining they cooked before us in a spectacular way, the cook flamed it and fire flames came out and we were amazed. The first course was a delicious cheese that was kind of roasted. In the mean... More

We visited the Parthenon Restaurant in Chicago, IL, yesterday and were extremely impressed with the food, the service, and the ambiance! The greek salad was wonderful and the saganaki (flaming cheese) was out of this world! We were part of a tour group of 52 and the service was outstanding! The wait staff was attentive and went out of their... More

The best value at The Parthenon is of course the Greek Feast. Saganaki(flaming cheese dish), gyros, salad, lamb, push tons of other Greek dishes or so it seems are available for $21.45 per person to pig out on. Dessert and coffee are also included. Add a carafe of wine for $10 or $11 to complete the meal. We still had... More

Once upon a time I lived 5 years in Athens Greece.. I do cook it however specializing ingredients cost $$ so its a treat to go to a known establishment with fine service and superior foods. This is a place we go back to time and time again. The Wait Staff is superb ,they know their craft and how to... More

We spent an evening with family. The atmosphere was very good. The access is very good. The food is very good (very close to greek food tastes)- not excellent, but I was not satisfied with the service. The waiter was not friendly and the dinner was served about more than half an hour after we ordered. It was busy, but... More

I used to eat at this restaurant with my family when we visited Chicago when I was a kid. I took my son to eat here recently and my memories of this place were correct. It's excellent. My son and I had the family dinner for two number one. The food was delicious and plentiful. I would say we only... More

If you've never heard of flaming cheese here is an introduction to it. You order Saganaki and out comes a platter of two thick slices of cheese and the waiter pours some Brandy out of a bottle and sets it on fire emitting a column of flame that reaches the ceiling!!! The dish is of course delicious for an appetizer... More

This has been my one and only Greektown restaurant since 1971!! I have not been to Chicago in several years and the Parthenon was at the top of my list. First of all, the bread tasted stale. The Greek salad was tasteless. The egg lemon soup was so-so. The desserts were soggy, lacking honey drizzle. We ordered the complete dinner... More
