In the heart of Greektown, you'll find Pegasus Restaurant & Taverna's delicious Mediterranean cuisine, a fine dining atmosphere, and great service! For nearly 25 years, we've enjoyed food and people and the act of bringing them together. From the moment you enter our doors, you're treated like a member of the Pegasus Restaurant & Taverna family! Our staff serves up true Mediterranean cooking that our families grew up eating. We work to educate diners about the delights of Greek cuisine - the health benefits of indigenous ingredients like extra virgin olive oil and plant-based foods, the savory flavors of lamb, and the welcoming atmosphere. Try our unforgettable Yuvetsaki pasta with tender morsels of beef braised with fresh plum tomatoes, olive oil, wine, and herbs, or our delectable Arni Pisto - slices of prime roasted leg of lamb in natural au jus! And don't forget to pair your meal with a glass of fine wine or treat yourself to one of our famous specialty cocktails. During the Summer months, be sure to plan a trip to enjoy our spectacular veranda featuring an unmatched eastern view of the Chicago skyline. Gather your friends or family and order some Mezethes - small plates that are made for sharing and a fantastic way to sample a variety of Greek dishes. Pegasus Restaurant & Taverna is the ultimate Greektown destination for enjoying good food, family, and friends. Come by today for lunch or dinner and taste all the best of what the Mediterranean has to offer!

The cuisine offered at Pegasus is reliable if not very inventive; the quality is middle of the road--O.K. for lunch, but not really a place to take your favourite foodie friend for a nice night out. Went here for a late dinner with my girlfriend and another couple. The rooftop veranda was lively and welcoming. Despite being busy, the waitress was quick and attentive. Our order of small plates came out shortly after ordering and they hit the spot. The pork kebobs were too fatty, but that was the only complaint with the food. Great baked... More

I'm so glad to hear you and your girlfriend could have a great time on our veranda, David! I'm happy you loved the lamb skewers! I'm sorry if the pork souvlaki that we serve on our rooftop Veranda wasn't quite to your liking, but we make our small pork "souvlakia" just the way they are prepared in Greece (with an... More

Our daughter chose Pegasus for a dinner party with 3 of the group craving Greek cuisine; especially a well-known Greek soup - avgolemono (a rich lemon broth soup with rice and thicken with egg - yummy) and my taste buds were going for an authentic Gyro. When offered to be seated on rooftop; we were very happy with that, the... More

Thanks so much for taking the time to review. However, I'm sorry you were underwhelmed. Please know, someone should have explained the difference in menus to you before you were seated, and I'm sorry that didn't happen. We have offered a "mezedes"(small plate) - only menu on our outdoor roofgarden for the last 23 year, since we opened the roof... More

Met 2 couples there for Sunday lunch. Whenever we eat in Greek Town the restaurants are busy. That should have been my tip off as the place was empty. My husband had the cold octopus salad which he liked and I had the broiled octopus and red cabbage appetizer which was difficult to eat as it was overcooked. I should... More

My daughter called Pegasus because she wanted to dine on the rooftop and have a view of the city for her birthday dinner. There were six of us in party and three of us got there early. I told person greeting us it was my daughter's birthday and was told to say something to Stephanos. We found him on the... More

Nothing about what we do is a "scam" so this is a little confusing to hear. I am sorry, though, if there was some confusion. Our waitress was simply trying to recommend items to make your visit more enjoyable. Any assumption that they would be "on the house" was unfortunately entirely on your end, as we would make no such... More

I am not very knowledgeable or a fan of Greek food for the most part so I cannot speak to the authenticity of the flavors of the food. The shrimp and pasta dish I chose was pleasant but not overly flavorful. We ordered several appetizers including the flamed cheese All of which would benefit from pita crisps or flat bread... More

Valet Service hit my car while parking then lied that they did not do it. $1000 in damage - thank you, Pegasus. They took a picture of the damage 1 hour after our arrival claiming it was already damaged. Food: extremely poor quality, tasteless, cheap ingredients and low quantities. Chicken was not edible - felt like rubber. My kids were... More

This Greek-town restaurant is one of the better ones in Chicago with a nice array of choices, comfortable atmosphere, friendly service and reasonable prices. Just make sure you're not in a hurry, as the food takes its time getting from the kitchen to your table even during a weeknight when it's not particularly crowded.

Glad you can rely on us for some great food, Bonnie, even if we can be a little slow when we get crowded. We appreciate this feedback and we'll be sure to work on this. Hope to see you again soon! Best, Ceasar, Managing Partner More

We got off to bad start as the hostess explained we didn't really have a choice of where to sit. Our meals were good and I truly enjoyed the Greek pasta dishes. Everyone said try the flaming cheese. ours had little flavor and hardened quickly. Next visit if I go there I will go straight to the dessert and wine... More

I'm sorry if the hostess was curt with you about seating, Dave. That being said I'm glad you enjoyed the food, even if the saganaki wasn't quite right. I'm sure we'll nail it next time. Hope to see you again soon! Best, Ceasar, Managing Partner More
