Not your typical vegetarian

Good variety of dishes for a vegetarian restaurant. We had both vegetarians and non and all found something to their liking and walked away full. Very noisy inside. Because we wanted to talk, we went to the outside portion in the back.

We Picked wicker Park for a Saturday evening stroll and headed to the handle bar because of the vegetarian food selection. After a glimpse thrue the window front we were not sure if we should head in, but we would have definitely missed a great dinner and good beer in the backyard beer garden.. Definitive recommendation not only for vegetarians!

Got the Black Bean Maduro and it was amazing, hearty and delicious. There was a base of plantain giving it a sweet side with a spice sauce coating it that gave it nice kick. Hearty meal for cold weather!

Had brunch on a Sunday morning. Food fantastic , service good, better than expected. It is small and tables are small. Had to eat at bar but still great. I would go again. Less stars for atmosphere because of all the Ravens, little creepy

This was the second time I've eaten here. It was just after one on a Saturday so there was a wait. We decided to eat at the bar and weren't displeased in the slightest. The bartender was plesant and patient. I had two appetizers for lunch and let me tell you, one would have been plenty. I got the nachos... More

I'm not a vegetarian but assumed I could find something good on the menu. I was wrong. Everything I got was a step above inedible. In their defense, all the food seemed to be conscientiously prepared. I think a not veg palate won't be happy. It's a fun room with an eclectic crowd. I'd definitely go for drinks.

I came in on the later side, around 10pm on a Tues, but the lateness had no impact on the service or food. Street parking was easy and there was no delay in getting seated or getting my order taken. I got the vegan sloppy joe with fries and a pickle, and even though the advertised pretzel bun wasn't vegan... More

Although there is a lot of hype about vegan restaurants in Chicago, my favorite is Handlebar. Their regular menu has a huge variety of wonderful options, and they always have specials that are great. During the spring, summer and fall, they generally have a lot of seasonal items that are lovely - lots of greens in the fall, local tofu,... More

This bar is one of my favorites in the city. They always have a good selection of quality beers and drinks. Their rotating menus of mixed drinks are my favorite to check out. Always something unexpected on their and it's always delicious. The food here is also top notch. No meat on the menu but lots of vegetarian and pescatarian... More

Pescetarian restaurant - veggie and fish dishes only! So right up my alley. It took me an eternity to decide what I wanted because I literally wanted everything, but finally got the Chili Mac Attack. I think it was on special that night, so could not refuse. It didn't disappoint! Veggie chili with smoked gouda - I mean impossible to... More
