Everyone knows about longman, so there is no need to add redundant opinions to the current literature. They define the "upscale food, casual environment" vibe that many restaurants strive for. They are constantly reinventing the menu and they have an A-plus whiskey selection. The more recent addition of an indoor waiting area with bar bites and a solid drink menu... More

We were in Logan Square walking around and shopping and happened to find this place. I was delighted to discover they offered brunch (I think we got there around 1:45 or 2:00pm). I had eggs and bacon and potatoes, along with a delicious bloody mary. Table mates had the rueben and the sausage special. The menu here seems to change... More

My husband and I had the good fortune to dine here the other night. Our entire experience was spectacular....quite possibly, some of the best food we have ever had. Our waitress was fantastic..she really took the time to help us with the menu and did not steer us wrong with her recommendations. We loved everything we had, but our favorites... More

We went there late one night and got seated within five minutes despite not having a reservation. Staff was attentive and food was great. The portions was just right for you to have room left for dessert. Excellent place!

Every time we visit Chicago we take the train out from our hotel in Hyde Park to Logan Square just to eat at Longman & Eagle. Always great for lunch, the menu is not the usual bar fare. The Ploughman's Platter is a favorite but if you like to experiment, and we do, this is the place. Fried Goat Ravioli... More

Brunch menu was heart-stopping. I had wild boar in sloppy-joe form what was quite delish, and husband had a beautiful cheesecake French toast with rum panna cotta. I enjoyed a great bourbon milk punch and a perfectly executed Seelbach cocktail (I usually have to explain it to lesser bartenders). I love this place.

This was my third visit to L&E over the past 3 years. I LOVE this place. It's just a few steps from the blue line Metro stop but feels a world away from the strip-mall chain-filled airport zone. Drinks are outstanding and fun (get the Old Fashioned!). Food is flavorful and beautiful. Service is great. This time we sat outside... More

Five stars for brunch. Haven't been for any other meals, but brunch is phenomenal. There really is a plethora of great brunch options in Chicago, but this definitely deserves a spot in the ranks. We ordered the Sunnyside Duck Egg Hash and the Fried Chicken and Waffles. Both of which were delicious. Believe me here were no leftovers! I'm typically... More

If you're picky about cocktails and beer, appreciate innovative cuisine that's well executed, but prefer relaxed and hip ambience over stuffiness, this is your kinda joint. Yes, there's a wait but plenty of room in the bar. Waiting for the table is the best part of the meal with these drink options! Mikkeller beer, creative versions of classic cocktails... The... More
