I thought this place was just a regular bar but they also serve food so was even better. Is was very nice to come to this place nice hipster atmosphere... More

This place really knows food!!! No wonder it is michelin rated year after year. I have only eaten brunch there 3 times, and each time i'm lost for words. When you get there, it looks like a gastropub, but has so much to offer. The French Toast, the sloppy Joes, the eggs with duck confit, the fried chicken, and everything... More

My husband and I ate brunch at Longman and Eagle around 11 a.m. after a training run on the Lakefront trail. It was quite busy, but since we were guests at the inn the preceding evening, they allowed us to make a reservation (reservations are only taken for guests of the inn). We started with coffee (iced for me and... More

The music is quite loud and make it hard to listen to your partner and the waiters. Light is also very low. The menu is quite expensive. On the other hand the staff is friendly, they have good beers, and everything that comes from the kitchen is definitely and absolutely exquisite, no matter if entrées, main courses or deserts. My... We had a very different but excellent brunch at Longman & Eagle. My friend had the wild boar sloppy joes, and it was excellent. The accompanying fries were among the best I've ever tasted, although they were a bit too salty. I had the the whole hog, which was pulled pork that had been braised in maple syrup, served over... 4 of us went for dinner, excellent culinary experience, these guys are creative, and can cook. Starting with drinks, I usually do a Hendrichs martini, but was swayed by their gin fizz something or another... lemon grass, gin, and other seasonings, delish! For openers we had the pretzel with rarebit and home made pate, both excellent. Cobia with root beer... More

Very highly rated and not hard to know why. A bounty of whiskies and other well-mixed drinks -- offered with glee as soon as we hit our table, as if every meal required a firm dose of liquor. And food that seeks that outer edge of farm-fresh wholesomeness, but with an odd tilt towards ingredient variety that makes some dishes... More

The place is not close to Chicago's down town, so there wasen't a lot of touristis, the atmosphere is more local. I enjoyed the food, very sophisticaded and service was good as well.

Was in way early to beat the dinner rush. Had a few tastes of their hand selected whiskey as well as the L&E flight. Very very good stuff. Actually did end up staying for dinner, had the rabbit and that was very good as well. Will for sure be making a return trip to try some other whiskey's! The waitress... More

This gastro-pub serves great cocktails and wonderful food. The menu is not overly ambitious and covers sufficient ground so that there is something for everyone. The wait staff is helpful in recommending how much to order and the service is just right. The small plates are just right for sharing among 3 to 4 people. The salads are super fresh... More
