Visited here in September. All food is made fresh to order, we sampled many of the "bar food" on the menu. Pricey but good. Extensive drinks menu, however I ordered a regular 7&7 and was told they did not stock Seagrams, although it was on the list of choices. I said the well brand was fine. It turned into a... More

I dined at Longman and Eagle with my husband on a Saturday and again with my girlfriend on a Monday. This restaurant does not accept reservations so you need to plan accordingly. I have been wanting to eat here for sometime but one has to arrive early if you want to get a table. Both of the meals I had... More

Located in the self-appointed hipster hood, Longman & Eagle goes by the saying “Eat, Sleep, Whiskey”, a slogan we are far too eager to accept. This recommendation rolled off the tongue of almost every bartender we came in contact with, so with our expectations high, we pulled up to the bar and got acquainted with Marta. I’m not quite sure... More

This place was amazing! Had the bone marrow, apple salad, seared tuna, fried chicken and black sesame donuts. The chicken was good, not amazing (probably bc I'm used to good friend chicken from the south), but everything else was top notch!! Looking forward to coming back and trying everything else!

Food was delicious. Service needs a lot of work. They obviously don't value their patrons. They treat everyone like they don't really care about your patronage. If they want to last in Chicago they better start to realize this is the age of the customer. People can go anywhere for a meal and a cocktail. Service is what separates the... More

I'm not a drinker, first thing first, but even I could appreciate their extensive selection of whiskey and other drinks. Pretty impressive and they don't come off as another place carrying the stuff so they can draw in the crowds and make some bucks. That carries over in the ambiance, the service and what I'm most concerned about --- the... More

I don't get the long wait times at this restaurant. It's been on my list for a long, long time because I've heard such good things about the food. I considered us lucky when finally I called and was told there was no wait (because it's generally an hour minimum). For me, if a restaurant doesn't take reservations and if... More

This was our fifth time at Longman & Eagle and it again exceeded our expectations. There is usually a 45 min-hour plus wait but the bar area is decently sized and the drink selection is huge so you get to enjoy unique drinks in a great atmosphere. Once seated the service is always attentive and friendly and the food is... More

Went on a busy weekend night knowing it would be a wait. Host said 1-1/2 hours but new it would be less. Order drinks from front bar but soon found the back bar which was the spot to hang. Less crowded easy to get drinks. 40 min. later table was read. Cheese plater starter was very good but the pork... More

As part of a group of 8 good friends who don't mind sharing, I was happily able to sample quite a bit of the menu, most of which was quite luscious. For starters, the olives were inexplicably good. The pate was conventional and just ok. Of the small plates, the bone marrow was an unexpected menu treat; spectacularly rich, balanced... More
