Francesca's on Taylor features the zesty, earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding areas of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio. Chicago Magazine notes, "It brings a new kind of abbondanza to an old Italian neighborhood." It is the fourth restaurant opened by Chef Scott Harris, whose philosophy is to encourage the lively art of dining with a contemporary, casually sophisticated trattoria ambiance, good, rustic cooking, friendly service and fair prices. Anne Spiselman of Crain's Chicago Business observes: "A rolled-mesh ceiling, warm woods and geometric light fixtures give the room a rather clubby look, brightened during the day by light coming through the windows facing the street. And, Francesca's on Taylor takes reservations. "No, it does more; it honors reservations. Twice I made reservations, twice I walked into a packed dining room, and twice I was seated within 10 minutes," notes respected Chicago Tribune food critic Phil Vettel who claims this to be his favorite Francesca restaurant.

My boyfriend and I ventured to the Little Italy neighborhood in Chicago with the hope of having a nice leisurely dinner. The food throughout the night was good but not outstanding. We shared an appetizer, the Prosciutto alla Norcina and ordered the Rigatoni and a Fillet special as entrees. We also enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine. The service was... More

My wife, son and I just finished an early day of sightseeing in Chicago on a cold windy day (go figure!). We were in the mood for a warm, cosy, down-home Italian meal. We couldn't have hoped for a better experience than Francesca's. We got there about 3:50, when the menu was changing from lunch to dinner. The owner /... More

Meal made easy. Delicious appetizers and meal. Wine selection was great. Service was prompt and friendly. Great recommendations. Would love to go back next time in town. 5-10 minute cab ride from Museum/Convention Center area and well worth it!

We were there with four friends, and loved the food and service. Our server was helpful and professional, knowledgeable and wanted to make everything perfect for us. This is amazing because the servers seem to cover lots of tables and are always very busy. I had the chicken romano, and was pleased with it. The chicken was perfectly prepared and... More

Good food in large portions at a very reasonable price. We had a large party that shared appetizers and desserts. Everything was delicious.

I came here with my boyfriend at 3pm on a Monday. It was the end of the lunch crowd and we were able to take advantage of the lunch special. This is three courses for $18, which is a really good deal. I got the cream of tomato soup with a single piece of bruschetta. The bruschetta had fresh mozzarella... More
