Always fun

Omelet are exceptional. Sandwiches are also excellent. The place is steeped in Chicago history, and has been a favorite of ps for decades. Service is good. However, be prepared that it will be crowded and noisy.

My husband & I walked here from our hotel which took approx 20 minutes and was well worth it. We were greeted at the door & the lady offered us a small doughnut which my husband loved. We both had eggs benedict which was lovely. I didn't want hash browns with mine so was offered tomatoes as an alternative. The... More

Where else to start the beginning of a Route 66 road trip but the iconic Lou Mitchell's? There's free parking outside of you're lucky to arrive at the right time, otherwise metered parking around the block The place was humming and we were lucky to get a table after a short wait - during which we were treated to free... This classic hasn't changed a bit! Old school great breakfast but you can get turkey sausage egg whites etc! Really good waffles too. It's an experience so don't miss! Cheap for downtown and bring cash..no charge cards

You will feel like you are back in the 1950s in this classic diner. The waiters are all dressed 1950s style. They are all very welcoming. It's probably not the best Place when you are on a diet, but it's definitely a reason to interrupt your diet for a few days!

Went here for breakfast based on the recommendation from a friend who has visited before. Great choice. There was a wait (not as long as the wait at Wild Berry) but the food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun. Definitely recommend.

It's my new slogan! I knew a year ago after meeting a traveler at a hotel bar that on my next journey to Chi-town Lou Mitchell's was on the list of Eat-Or-Die! Even on a snowy Saturday morning before heading to McCormick Place there was a super small line out the door and I didn't mind waiting in snow! The... More

Make sure you get up and head here early. People queue out the door and down the street to come here! Friendly service, great breakfasts and HUGE portions (from a European perspective).

Had Breakfast at Lou's had the apple and cheese omelette with the potatos, very tasty, great house blend coffee and you get a milk dud when you get there which is great as well. The whole place runs like a well oiled machine, would definitely go back again if I am in town.
