We loved our meal here. My wife and I sat indoors since it was cold and windy in the windy city. Our dinner was delicious. The decor is lovely. The outdoor terrace must be awesome when conditions permit. I ordered a tofu and veggie entree for about $19 but other entrees often cost $35 or $40 here. Service is incredibly... More

The appetizers are quite divine and the dim sum is pretty much the best I have had. The wait staff is some of the best you can fine. Make sure to go after mid-April if you want to eat on the patio!

Extremely pleased with dining here for lunch. Nice specials, generous portions and I have a new favorite-black pepper chicken, oh my, GOOD stuff. The egg drop soup was tasty, little off with the orange color but maybe has to do with high school being Orangemen. Crab Rangoon was really nice We will return next time we are in town for... More

Great meal, and found option ranging from good value, to something a bit more extravagant depending upon your price range.

We always like to eat at Shanghai Terrace in Chicago. It is a charming restaurant with great food and excellent service. The dim sum is really good. It is pricey but we always enjoy it. They also have a nice wine selection. It does not hurt that the restaurant is in the GREAT Peninsula Hotel.

Three of us got a great table, we went by their recommendations in terms of food. Had several courses and amazing dessert! The setting is wonderful, the terrace overlooks the city and the lights and it is just amazing! Will never forget and definitely will come back!

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
