Great ribs & deep dish pizza!

Shared BBQ ribs platter and deep dish pizza - both were excellent. Great service and many craft beers. Will return on next visit.

I would actually give Exchequer 3.5 stars. The place was hopping on Friday night when we dined at the restaurant. It is a typical pub pizza joint, very casual and very loud. The appetizers were very blasé,nothing special but our deep dish pizza was cooked perfectly with just the right combo of cheese, sauce and toppings.

The staff at the Congress Plaza Hotel suggested the Exchequer. I'm glad I listened. I visited on a Wednesday night after the White Sox game. The place was not crowed, not smoky, and not too loud. The walls are decorated with old mobster photos and newspaper articles. There were several televisions each playing a different sporting event. The staff was... More

We stopped in for lunch because it looked like a pretty cool place. There is a bar area and several rooms so it turned out to be a fairly large place. I'd like to say the food was good but it was average at best. I had a small "crispy" pizza and there was nothing crispy about it - in... More

Food was great and service was great too. Was a very fun place to go to. We had a group of 8 and they accommodated us very well. Menu was very nice. Would highly recommend it.

In fairness, this was recommended by the concierge to be great deep dish pizza. This fell below out expectations. The pizza dough seemed undercooked and we sent it back to be baked some more. The sauce was OK, and the fillings seemed to be a big glob of cheese with our toppings in there somewhere. Have eaten before at the... More

Great food (including pizza), nice ambiance, old speakeasy! What could be more Chicago. Cell phones are useless once you get deep into the restaurant, but that is ok, too!

I went twice to this restaurant. The first time, I had items from their regular menu. Not pizza. Everything was simple and borderline cafeteria-style. At about 30 dls for 1 beer, 1 salad-soup combo plus a salad, it was a below average experience. Because they are all about pizza, I went a second time. I ordered the small cheese deep... More

The family and I went here based on the recommendation of a hotel employee. We weren't disappointed. The garlic cheesy bread was excellent. The pizza had more cheese than I could have ever imagined. I'm not sure it was 'traditional' Chicago pizza but it was good pizza. Would recommend.
