My husband and I went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a Bell Hop at The Palmer House Hilton. We weren't disappointed. We both ordered the Chicago Deep Dish pizza - him Meat Eaters, and me a build-your-own veggie. They were larger than either of us were expecting, but delicious!! We bagged up what we couldn't finish, and gave... More

So, this place definitely isn't worth the money they charge: you can get the same hamburger at Al's for 1/4 of the price that they're trying to mark it up to here. The Al Capone thing is an unfortunate gimmick (doesn't everywhere in Chicago have an Al Capone story to it? The man should have had a TripAdvisor account)--and kinda... More

My daughter and I ate at the Exchequer as a recommendation by a local lady in Chicago we chatted with while sitting at the Taste of Chicago event (which was also fun). Anyways my daughter had a small deep dish pizza which she absolutely loved. I love good Burgers and I ordered there. It was a home made patty and... More

Neat little place with dark wood pub atmosphere. We ate an early dinner here before a concert at the Chicago Theater. In nice weather it's a easy walk, about 5 blocks/half a mile. Since they are famous for both their pizza and ribs we wanted to try both. We got a half rack of ribs and a small deep dish... More

They say it was one of alcapone preferred place to dine out. In my opinion is over rated. Food ok, but very faraway from legendary. Moreover is quite dark. The owner is a funny guy, and looks trustful

We had the ribs - they were good, but not great. Our server was one of the rudest I've had in quite a while - she disappeared after slamming down glasses with ice when we requested ice for our water. She never returned - instead we had a new server which must have been related because the service was about... More

Location couldnt be better if you are headed to an 8 o-clock downbeat at the symphony (just around the block). Very popular but well-served, with small but excellent menu. Pricey -- yep, but the quality and presentation are quite worth it.

The atmosphere was cool. A pub where Al Capone used to hang out with several memorabilia in the walls. The food was nice, nothing outstanding but worth the visit...

This is a cool place in downtown Chicago. Quick service and good food. If you are on Wabash, this is a good place to go for lunch. Right in the hub of things.

The restaurant is nothing special, but it drew a skillful use of historical ties to the Chicago mob, and in particular Al Capone in the restaurant and entertainment business in the years of the greatest flowering of the gangster world, and why not now.The interior is typical of a pub, but is decorated with newspaper clippings, posters, paintings and objects...
