English pub mixed with an American sports bar. My friends and I were pretty excited for their pizza but very disappointed; like another reviewer mentioned, it was tough and didn't taste fresh at all. Our waitress was far from attentive or helpful, as well. Maybe we had an abnormal experience, but we won't be going back.

This is like an old classic. Nothing wrong with it at all. We stopped in for a quick bite and ended up staying for hours. Loved the onion rings and the dipping sauces. The deep dish pizza was weird, though. It was really tough. Almost like the crust was pre-cooked and then when we ordered, filled and heated up. The... More

We didn't eat here as we had reservations elsewhere. The beer, however, was excellent. Some odd B ritish standards like Boddingtons and various horrific Continental lagers, plus American beers like Goose Island and Honkers Ale, which I hadn't tried before and can recommend. Also had mozzarella cheese sticks and goats cheese marinara - good messy snacks. The decor is "Al... More

I went for dinner to the Exchequer, and was happily surprised by how nice an experience it turned out to be. The deep dish pizza was good, and the own beer from the bar went well with it. The place was rather packed, but the service remained attentive. A good place for a dinner.

I always enjoy the Exchequer Restaurant & Pub with friends when I visit Chicago. The pizza is good, the wings are great, and the bar does a great job keeping us happy. Service can be a bit on the slow side. Close to the Palmer House which is important. Just an old fashioned, old world hangout. Very cool place, and... More

We wanted a quiet, cozy pub-like setting to enjoy our lunch and we definitely found it here. The service was excellent, the food was wonderful and the atmosphere was very nice. We had the hamburger and the crispy crust pizza... along with a bloody mary. All of the above were wonderful. I definitely recommend to anyone searching for a nice,... More

The 30-minute wait for this very tasty, extremely cheesy pizza is something not to miss. Located along the L there's plenty to see and do including the memorabilia on the walls.

First thing, they claim to be famous for ribs, at least that is what I have read and was told when ordering. Being my first time, I followed to recommendation. The ribs are boiled before being quickly grilled and the sauce was mediocre. I wasn't mad, just confused that this is what they were famous for, they were average. Nice... More

I was just walking around town and found this place. It was crazy busy for lunch, but I was able to get a seat near the bar. And the service was great inspite it being so busy. I didn't have to wait long to order. Waitress was very attentive. It was cold and rainy out, and their chili mac with... More

What's not to like food was great service was fab and atmosphere was good too. If you are staying at the Palmer walk past Millers and go another block till you hit this place. We tried both and have to say exchequer wins hands down. Although food is similar we found exchequers to be better. There was no comparison in... More
