Stopped for drinks, but would totally give this a shot for dinner!

Stopped in for some post-theater drinks and got to see the end of the Blackhawks game. The place was very crowded... we got the only two seats available at the bar. Saw a deep dish pizza go by and it looked great! The guy next to us got what appeared to be a very thick pork chop and smelled... read more

My husband and I were visiting Chicago and wanted good authentic local deep dish pizza. There was a place recommended by trip advisor about 4 blocks from the hotel but when we arrived there was well over an hour wait for 2 and we were hungry. Disappointed, we walked back towards the hotel (the Congress Plaza on Grant Park in... More

Our first choice for Chicago style pizza was booked out but we ended up here. Service was great and the Pizza was tasty.

Best food, drinks and staff around! Exchequer Pub has been a part of our lives for many many years. It's a restaurant/bar that treats you like family (think friendly neighborhood bar that has been picked up and dropped in the heart of downtown Chicago). They even assisted in helping us host an after party on our wedding day! Thank you... More

Visited the Exchequer before a performance at the symphony. We were a group of 46, 42 of us high school students from Canada. We were lead to a private room where a buffet of bbq chicken, beef kabobs, pasta and salads was laid out. The chicken and kabobs were cooked to perfection. Nothing was dry or overlooked. The vegetables were... More

A Chicago institution, that is wonderfully convenient the Palmer House. Exchequer is usually busy, noisy, friendly, with hard working and friendly wait staff. Great place to catch a game on television, have a Chicago deep dish pizza, and sample a few local pints or pitchers.

I was fortunate that this place was right around the corner from my hotel. I saw someone else's review saying that it was the best pizza in Chicago. I don't have any way to know if that's true or not but I would certainly think it would be a top contender. The crust was absolutely perfect. Simply delicious. The staff... More

We hadn't been to this place in many years, so when a friend was visiting from out of town, we suggested having dinner there. They have a decent selection of beer, big screens to watch the NHL playoffs, and excellent chicken wings. The guys ordered a pizza, though, and when it came they immediately noticed it was not what they... More

Our first stop in Chicago was of course for Chicago style pizza. Exchequers has an incredible menu and it was hard to choose...so we tried a little of everything. A++ on food quality, service and price. We were there early and there was no wait to be seated. Food was served hot and fresh and delicious!

Definitely a restaurant with real character, warmth and friendly efficient service. I chose a 'small' deep dish pizza, something I had to do whilst in Chicago, and had to ask for a doggy bag as there was just too much for me to manage. It was delicious, flavoursome and definitely a quality product, but for me, just too big a... More
