Decent place to grab dinner right before a show at the Goodman

We were in a hurry and only had 45 minute to the beginning of our show at the Goodman Theater. We explained the time crunch to the staff and they were excellent with recommending us options that will not take long to prepare. The food was delicious, fresh, and overall a great experience. A little... read more

Located in the theatre district near the loop, Petterino’s is a traditional Italian restaurant. We enjoyed outstanding Italian cuisine that was exceeded only by some of the best service we’ve experienced in a while. Peterson’s is well worth placing on your itinerary. You will not be disappointed.

This restaurant is located right next to the Goodman Theater and a few blocks away from the Chicago Theater so its location is pertinent and reason enough to dine here. We went to a concert at the Chicago Theater and were able to get a reservation (they will hold your table for 15 minutes past your reservation time). The waitress... More

Went here prior to a show. Just steps from theater. Sat in the bar on a very crowded evening. I was amazed at how quickly we were greeted and served !! Ed, our bartender /server made recommendation for the gnocchi in delicious vodka sauce, prime sliders, and the BEST margarita we had ever tasted. Promptly was given the bill, paid... More

We enjoyed a Saturday night dinner. The place was buzzing and very busy. There was a short wait for the table. The menu was extensive. We picked one portion of calamari and 2 mains. All plate we too large for us, but well cooked and tasty. There are pictures on the wall of people who have visited, it is worth... More

My wife and I went here after a play at the Goodman Theatre. We anticipated a crowd so we made a reservation in advance , what a waste. When we arrived two young girls were in charge of seating , needless to say it was a train wreck trying to be seated. The food was mediocre at best. The only... More

Petterino's is in the same building as the Goodman theater. It's expensive but worth it. The bar is expensive as well and less worth it. But the ambience, service and usually excellent fare makes that forgivable. Classic restaurant interior from the 50s. Great feel. They offer a pre-fixe menu prior to plays. Dinner features everything from Maryland Crab cakes to... More

This is a very expensive restaurant where the food was good but not equal to it's reputation or price level.

We were able to walk up and get a table for 2 within minutes on a tuesday night without a reservation. Had the wallete/pike special with a lemon herb sauce and the fish couldnt have been cooked any better. It was moist and tasty served over roasted cauliflower-grab it if available. The rigatoni with sausage and grilled onions was also... More

It was my last day in Chicago, a place I love to visit...and usually love to eat. This trip, however, was marred by bad meals - most unusual for Chicago. So, OK, I have to go the airport and I really need a great meal. Good news: I got one at Petterino's, a place I go to often and love.... More
