The steak was cooked perfectly. The sliced potatoes that come with dinner were a little dry and over cooked. Excellent service! Use Open Table app for reservations! I called the restaurant and was told they were booked. I went to Open Table and got a reservation there no problem! Excellent waitstaff!

On a business trip to Chicago earlier this month went to dinner with some colleagues. Delicious. Service was great - cocktails were perfect and dinner - well, let's just say - wow! So good we went back a second time a few nights later. A must do if you want great food at a real Chicago treasure.

Sometimes you just want a thick, juicy steak--calories and cholesterol be damned. When you get that feeling and happen to be in Chicago, go to Gene & Georgetti's. Sure, there are fancier, trendier places, but this place has the same ambiance that your grandfather enjoyed. The service is prompt, friendly, but not overly solicitous. The steaks were cooked precisely as... More

I think of G &G as a business dinner with clients who want a great steak, money is not an issue, and make million dollar deals at the table. It's crowded, the waiters are in the 60s, it's old school and as one posted- gotta try it one! Preferably on an expense a account because it will be $100 a... More

It could have been the 1940's or 50's...it just happened to be 2014, but who cares! This place oozes the past and that is part of its charm. Easy to imagine that the servers have grown up in this place and are happy to have done so. Our drinks were well prepared and quite good. The bread basket was, too.... More

First off, the atmosphere is very nice...that's where it ends. The service was decent, orders got place to the wrong person and drinks were slow to arrive. I had the Ribey. It was decent, but no better than a chain restaurant. The sides were average. The Carrot cake and chocolate cake were no better than a grocery store bakery. The... More

My wife and I went to this classic old style restaurant on a Friday night. It was very crowded. It is a small restaurant with hardly any place to stand waiting for our table. The tables themselves were very closely spaced. We split a T-Bone which was so large that we still had steak leftover. The steak itself was cooked... More

Decided on this longtime establishment to celebrate my Husband and Daughters Birthday. Have to say it was a let down. For Appetizers we ordered Fried Calamari, Stuffed Mushrooms and Baked Clams not bad, but not outstanding just mediocre. We were a party of 6 and each of us ordered steaks. I ordered the Prime Rib and thought it was a... More

This place hasn't been remodeled or updated since the 40's, but the food is amazing. We started out with calamari and a half order of fried ravioli - both delicious. We both had the bone-in filets. When they arrived, they looked somewhat charred on the outside, but the flavor was exceptional. We ordered the mashed potatoes for our side, and... More
