Definitely "old school"

If you are looking for a traditional steak and potatoes place, then you must go here! Big steaks, heaping mound of delicious potatoes, great prices with a seasoned/knowledgable staff... Who could ask for anything more? Bring your appetite...

Although the service was very good, the steaks were disappointing -- not particularly tender & they were close to tasteless. No argument about prices. Steak houses are supposed to be grossly over-priced and additions such as potatoes, vegetables are always high. But, based on our experience, I would not return & will look elsewhere next trip. Hope this review helps.

We've been to G&G before and were always impressed with the quality of the steaks. This time was an exception. I had the half order of broiled lamb chops. Three chops that were surprisingly chewy and somewhat dry. The wife's filet mignon was nothing to write home about either. As usual, the salad was wonderful. Extremely busy, and not a... More

This is an old fashioned Chicago steakhouse. Dark, loud and mediocre food. The steaks are fair but not worth the price. Many other places to go in Chicago for better food and better atmosphere.

There are so many better steaks in Chicago it makes no sense to eat here. The best thing about the place is the classic sign out front. The main room is o.k., but you almost always get sat upstairs and the food is just so damn mediocre. And it ain't cheap. Skip it.

My husband and I visited here on a recent business/couples getaway trip.it was hard to decide on which steakhouse to choose when there are so many in the Chicago area. We TRULY made the right decision!! The steak was one of the best we had ever had and the old school, neighborhood feel was great! Definitely would come back!

The food was excellent. I had a veal chop that unlike any veal chop I've ever had. It was thick, juicy and very tasty. My tablemates were no less delighted with their choices. I also ordered a glass of a super Tuscan wine that worked well with the veal.

Love this quaint place! Wait staff was amazing and attentive. Ask for seasoning on the steaks, other then that, they are to die for! Hubby did the prime rib, huge and delish!! Cant wait to go back!! Wine list was plentiful and prices were not outrageous!
