So good. Always my first choice when visiting Chicago. You need a reservation. Is hard to get a seat at the first come first serve bar. The guacamole is out of this world.

I can't really add much to the other reviews, but it is worth every penny for inventive and delicious food. Need to reserve way ahead, we could only get a lunch reservation a month ahead, and lunch was packed.

Rick Bayless is a genius and has proven worthy of all the fame and awards he has earned. After begging for a reservation on short notice and lucking out, my wife and I experienced the best meal of Mexican food we have ever sat through. We have been to Mexico many times and eaten at well known Mexican restaurants all... More

I've been watching Rick Bayless' PBS tv show on Mexican food for years, so when the opportunity to travel to this restaurant presented itself, I jumped at the chance. My wife and I few to Chicago for the sole purpose of eating at Frontera Grill. I made a reservation online and we were seated immediately. Some of the things you... More

We went to this well known restaurant for lunch in Chicagp without a reservation. The wait was about one-half hour. We ordered two dishes to share, The steak Taco with grilled onions (extra charge) was a good value and was tasty. We asked for extra tacos which was great. The Street trio, however, was really just a small appetizer, but... More

After watching "Mexico, One Plate at a Time" on the Livewell Network, we knew we needed to include Frontera Grill on our list when we visited Chicago. We made reservations the day before on line. The day was beautiful so we chose a table outside. We each ordered different meals and found them to be just as delicious as we... More

We had a reservation for Frontera which turned out to be very important as it was a very busy spot. The overall restaurant was bustle-y and I wouldn't choose here if I was looking for a quiet romantic meal. But the atmosphere suited the restaurant and I wasn't looking for a quiet meal. Our server (who's name I forget, unfortunately)... More

We ordered way too much food for 2 people. Try to go with more people so you can try more things (without stuffing yourself stupid). The Topolo Margarita is perfection. We got the ceviche trio (hard to pick a favorite, they were all amazing), escabeche salad (the only thing we weren't crazy about - too acidic), mole trio (the mole... More

It is well worth every dime we spent on our wonderful dinner. The staff are great and the food is incredible. Every thing that we ordered was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Would definitely go back every time in Chicago.

Went on a Monday and must have gotten lucky - no wait right when it opened. Of course, we still had the obligatory "sit at the bar and have a margarita during your pseudo-wait" which I totally welcomed, so we could have some time to take in the great ambiance. Plus, the drinks were amazing. I'm not a big fan... More
