I've eaten here a few times. I love the menu, it has good variety, without being too much. Service is friendly water glass always had water. Service friendly and will always offer good suggestions. Parking other than valet is a pain.

This was an experience and a half, leaving my stomach full and my wallet severely diminished. Service was a little slow, but food was served with confidence by very knowledgeable wait staff. The Grill and Topolobampo are connected but very different experience. Next time I will probably try the Grill for the less painful price, and for the less upper... More

We dined at Topolobampo yesterday in Chicago. We had a UK student in the U. S. for his first time and this was his last hooray in the States before his O'Hare departure to Heathrow. We had a late lunch reservation. The restaurant was not overcrowded as that place can be with Frontera Grill attached. We had the quac, the... More

My sister and I booked our reservation and then booked our flight to Chicago. We opted for Topolobampo (last time we did Frontera). The summer menu is excellent. The portions were small but offered a substantial feel for the dish. The Trio Trio Trio is must on the order list. My sister and I ordered the 5-course selection. Each of... More

I'd heard that Frontera has a great margarita, so in my first dinner in Chicago, I dropped in. The drinks were excellent - high quality tequila, and an excellent bartender. But the reason I got to know the bartender was that the restaurant was really packed even midweek, and I was lucky to get a place at the bar to... More

We watch the show, we have the cookbook, we finally made it to the restaurant. Because we didn't make a reservations far in advance, we ate at the bar, which was great. The bartender was very attentive and did a great job with both the food and the drink. Lively and great service. Had a wonderful meal. And Rick Bayless... More

I had looked forward to visiting for a 2nd time since my last visit in 2012. It did not disappoint me! The margaritas were so fresh and perfect. I tried Oxacan Gold with Mezcal and it was perfect balance of sweet, fresh and Mezcal. My wife had the Chicken Mole and the Mole was SO GOOD! I had the Duck... More

Returned to Frontera Grill years later and its still a fun fantastic restaurant. We took our 21 year old there for her birthday just last week and had great authentic Mexican fare.

Perhaps our expectations were too high or we ordered the wrong thing but we were very disappointed by our meal here. The staff were good and they have a great reservation system ( text you when your table is ready). But the food was not worth the two hour wait. The guacamole was good but similar to most Mexican restaurants... More

Was at Frontera Grill for dinner with friends on a Saturday evening. Did not make reservation. Had to wait a little over an hour. Service was good. Waiter was attentive. Water refilled regularly. The dishes are dressed up. The actual food was so so. Nothing out of the ordinary. One if our dishes was very salty. Very noisy place. Not... More
