Rick Bayless Restaurant

Rick Bayless is one of my favorite chefs. I watch his cooking show on PBS and buy his packaged sauces. So, it was a real treat to eat at one of his restaurants. There are many hand crafted margaritas to choose from, shaken and poured at your table. We ordered the small plates so that we could... read more

Have dined here twice now and have been disappointed on both occasions. Spent an hour in the crammed airless bar waiting for a table only to be seated in the back of the very same bar on both visits. The tables are extremely tight making for an uncomfortable evening. The food is good but not great.

We waited almost 90 minutes to be seated but it was no issue as they took our number and texted us when our seat was available. I've been wanting to eat here for a long time, and it didn't disappoint. Chef Rick was in the kitchen which was impressive considering his other restaurants and activities. The Tropical Tuna Cocktail was... More

Had a wonderful lunch here with friends. Enjoyed every single bite. The drinks were creative and tasty, the food was well above average.

Chicago has almost as many great restaurants as NYC. So why would anyone go to one that doesn't take reservation and you probably have to wait an hour or more. And t top it off its Mexican food!! Because its thats good. Go, relax, have a habanero margarita and know you will have one of the most flavorful meals os... More

I have two of his cookbooks and have always wanted to try his food the easy way. I got a good seat at the bar. I went with a sampler to get as many taste as I could- Classic Trio. All excellent. The bar tender displayed a lot of class. The couple next to me was going to order 3... More

I loved this place. The food was so authentic and delicious. I had the Sopa!Presentation was beautiful and the service was a 10. This is a winner, Rick Bayless!

Frontera Grill was recommended to us by many friends and family prior to our trip, and for good reason. We so enjoyed our lunch here that we actually considered returning for dinner on the same night. The flavors are absolutely amazing. The guacamole was so delicious, as were the corn tamales (we almost ordered a second batch) and the mole... More

Chicago has some great restaurants. I had read about Rick Bayless' trio of restaurants in Chicago so thought we would try his flagship. This is not your everyday Mexican Food. The flavours, colours, tastes were extremely pleasing. A must if you are visiting Chicago. Wait was an hour and a half but easily passed in the great bar they have.

This place is perfect. I sat on the patio this summer and we loved the entire experience. Everything from the guacamole to the margaritas was delicious. I recommend the margarita that is red with basil or some kind of herbs - I can't remember the name but it was SOO tasty!
