Initially, we were trying to find a different restaurant, but got turned around. We walked by this restaurant and remembered that people reviewed this restaurant highly. So we gave it a shot. Are we happy we did. I had a fried oyster Po-boy with a cup of gumbo. My wife ordered a cup of gumbo. The gumbo is excellent! The... More

My boyfriend went to chicago for a long weekend and went to heaven on seven for dinner Friday night. I had previously been there and raved about it; this time was different. I had spivey chicken pasta he the gumbo. Both were ok... Service was the worse we had in Chicago.

Third year on the trot to this fantastic little place. A simple eatery with a really good menu and wonderful tastes. Enough additional spice bottle to please even the craziest hot thrill seeker. a Good drinks selections too martinis and beers (stone) available. The mixed starter was a great way to begin and then we got carried away in swapping... More

The atmosphere is like Mardi Gras. The food is great. If you like spicy comfort food, you should try it.

This is a restaurant you must stop in when in the loop. The atmosphere is loud and busy, but that is part of the plan. Staff is very efficient and have good recommendations. Portions are large and extremely tasteful. The gumbo is fantastic.

This has to be one of my favorites, and I do not say that lightly. If you like New Orleans style Cajun food but cannot get to the real thing, try this place. The gumbo is to die for! I have tried numerous things on the menu, but the Jambalaya is terrific. The only negative is that the desserts are... More

This is really one of the best meals in a lifetime! You cannot leave Chicago without trying out this restaurant. This restaurant was introduced by Mr. Lynn from the Taste Bud Tour. The shop was nicely decorated with an amazing collection of spice sauces. The wall display of all the sauces was overwhelming!! The Gumbo is so so so delicious!!... More

A random internet search and extreme hunger brought us here and we were quite amazed. Nice food and good drinks as well.

Loved this place!! Great atmosphere and great food. I would recommend the gumbo, jambalaya, and crawfish étouffée. Their drink selection was awesome too (I would recommend the swamp water). Definitely will be coming back!

We came here for dinner very late around 9:30 pm on a Sunday. It was a half hour shay of closing time. Never did we feel rushed and our waiter was great. Mae had gumbo, it was good and I had jambalaya and husband had fried shrimp platter. Both very large. We both enjoyed our food. *diclosure: we have never... More
