Cold and overcooked....did I say cold and OVERCOOKED? If not let me say it again, the Octoberfest sliders were overcooked, we ordered rare, and cold. The onion ring cake, a fond memory from childhood, cam almost black and cold. When I sent it all back, the reorder onion brick came done hot and perfectly cooked and the burgers still overcooked.... I am a big fan of this place. The service is excellent. The food is great pub fare. And it is an interesting location in the South Loop. Great selection of beers on tap as well.

Based on the rating we were hoping for a really good meal but were disappointed. Fish and chips were nothing special, and the steak was definitely not worth the price.

Took about 15 folks to Hackney's (had reservations) and we were immediately seated and the service was great. They took care of us and made the experience fun for all. The burgers were top notch and their appetizers were also a hit. The onion rings are a must! Even if you don't like onions.

We had two different burgers which were both great. They were cooked as requested with lots of condiments and fries. The service was good and there is a nice selection of local and craft beers. Good bar area with TV's if you want to catch a sporting event

We ate here on the recommendation of Showtime and we weren't disappointed even though they forgot one of our orders. Great selection of beers, but in Chicago where doesn't have a great selection! We all had the Kobe burger which was fantastic. The beef was flavoursome and cooked to perfection. The waitress was very attentive and game for a laugh... More

Every visit to Hackey's results in great food and a fun environment. I love the bar - lots of beer and microbrew options. I usually order a burger on the menu, and the guacamole & chips is amazing as a starter. For the kids - you have to order a Green River Soda - non-Chicago folks its a treat. Also... More

It's a nice old pub, for those of us that like pubs, in walking distance from the Chicago Hilton. A good bit of outdoor seating, which helps, the A/C is a little lacking as in most old pubs. Great selection of beer on tap and in the bottle. Had the daily burger special, that I'd of never conceived - a... More

Lunch at Hackney's was great. I had a Wisconsin Bratwurst and it was the best Bratwurst I ever ate! The service was exceptional, the location ideal and the foot fantastic. It was a beautiful day and they had a few tables out on the sidewalk, and it was so enjoyable.

My daughter is a UoC Grad student and she suggested this local favorite. It's certainly popular and on this Saturday early evening it was hopping. A bit tight feeling inside but with great outdoor seating - if the weather is right - the pub had it's own welcoming atmosphere. The beer selection on tap was very good. The talk here... More
