We ate two dinners here while staying at Hotel Monaco. The food is delicious and inventive. Our waiter, Jack, was very attentive. The first night, we asked for a certain wine, but they were out of it. Jack suggested a good substitution. When we came back several nights later, he remembered the wine and said that they had gotten some... More

933JudyD, I was so happy to hear that Jack, provided you with excellent wine recommendations. (He’s my ‘go-to’ guy for recommendations as well.) I will be sure to share your feedback with him, and the entire team. They love knowing that guests appreciate their service. Cheers! Charlotte O'Donahue - GM More

I was at the Hotel Monaco for business, so I ate both breakfast and dinner there on the same day. I must say the breakfast was one of the best I've had on the road lately--very healthy and perfectly portioned, and they had soy milk for my coffee. Then for dinner, the waiter made some recommendations and I had a... More

Had lunch there with their fixed price menu. For $22, really had a wonderful meal. The deviled eggs were amazing. My soup was good. They ran out of the pulled pork sandwich so I went with the grilled chicken/ham that was first class. My wife had the winner...the pear/brie/jam or what they call the obj ..just out of this world.... Offer a varied menu for brunch. Crab cakes and veggie frattata very good. Prices a little high - but it is Chicago. Excellent service.

We went for lunch and were very happy with our meals. We tried the deviled eggs after reading so much about them and definitely were happy that we did. Some people have said that the prices were high but in my opinion it is a good value for the quality that you get. Our service was also very good.

We were staying at the Hotel Monaco so found ourselves here for a dinner, breakfast and late night drinks. Dinner was just so-so, breakfast good and not much can go wrong with late night drinks. There are just so many good eating places and clubs around the area that it is hard for this restaurant to keep up, in my... More

I like their food, but it is SO pricey, I usually find other places to eat for 1/2 the cost. It's convenient if you're staying at the Hotel Monaco, other than that I would pass.

jerseygrl2014, Uh-oh – it sounds like you didn’t see the value in your meal. Our chef is a fanatic about buying local, super-fresh ingredients from trusted farmers, which can make dishes on the menu feel a bit on the pricey side. Thank you for taking the time to write us a review Warmly, Charlotte O'Donahue - GM More

Met a friend for brunch at the South Water Kitchen which is located next to the Hotel Monaco where we had stayed for the night. The brunch was good. My daughter had marscapone french toast while my friend and I had 2 eggs with sausage and very crispy potatoes (which I really enjoyed). The egg dishes were not inexpensive, but... More

We stayed at the adjoining Hotel Monaco and stopped in to SWK for a late Sunday breakfast -- it was wonderful! My dining companions each had coffee and said it was fantastic coffee. A couple of us ordered Bloody Marys, which were phenomenal! And the food was great -- I had the mushroom frittata, which was super delicious. Our server... More

I ate here with my mother and daughter on a Saturday night in December. Service was below average - drinks came for 2 of us, but not the 3rd until I asked for it again - then it took about another 10 minutes.
