Excellent Choice

Really good service and food, for my wife (the vegetarian) and me who will eat anything. The highlight of out Chicago meals was their quite awesome bread pudding!

The salmon was out of this world, and so were the deviled eggs! If you are staying at the Monaco, you have to try it at least once. Trust me, you'll go back again and again!

One of our favorite mid-town restaurants! Terrific for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Yes - you can get chicken and waffles. And shrimp and grits. But they have a flair for 'changing things up'. They make one of best Bloody Mary's - but warning: If it's Sunday, you won't be served one until after noon. What I love about this restaurant... More

South Water Kitchen is located inside the Hotel Monaco and was on our way to Michigan Avenue from the Wit. The decor is very pleasant. On our first visit, we each had a delicious hamburger with a salad, the server being very amenable to substituting the frues for greens. The burger was enormous, juicy, and perfectly prepared. The restaurant has... More

The food is delicious and the service fantastic, but the menu feels categorized and limited. The entree section of the menu basically has one dish per protein source. I had the lamb pasta (delicious) and, since I was staying in the hotel, a steak with mashed potatos and green beans via room service (tender, melt-in-your-mouth). Bottom line: good for the... More

Yum. Both cocktails and food were great. Sitting at the bar, I had one of the seasonal cocktails - porch swing - and then had Lovers carved heart which was incredibly smooth and tasty. Food: venison chili with habanero cornbread "donuts" - delicious!! Deviled eggs - as delicious as I remembered from my last visit. I wasn't sure about dessert,... More

Another super place we visited for breakfast just across the corner from the Wyndham Great Riverfront Hotel. Very spacious and modern furnishing; food was very good and a great selection. Our waiter Amir was very helpful with the menu and the cost is in a medium range but again we will be back.

The menu looked really intriguing and different, but everything was a little off. I ordered the chicken with a black bean succotash. The succotash was sooooo salty. When I told the waiter, he returned with a brown rice as a substitute. So I paid $30 for a piece of chicken with brown rice. My husband and I split a side... More
