Due beats Uno

Great pizza pie and buffalo chicken. This place is exactly what I want in a pizzeria, awesome atmosphere, sports on TV at the bar and friendly staff. Will be visiting again.

First visit to Chicago so we decided to try the famous deep dish pizza .We were seated fairly quickly after grabbing a drink at the bar. My son ordered an individual pepperoni deep dish pizza while I shared a small número uno deep dish pizza with my wife. Since the wait was 45 minutes we shared a Caesar salad .... More

So, the original Uno's is up the street. This is the expansion from the first Uno's. There is nothing Corporate about this place. It's full in real. The pizza was fantastic (we had an Uno and a Sausage and Mushroom between 6 dudes) but the service was the the real win. Our server, Shonda, was top notch. She was friendly... More

Not crowded like the famous spot across the street, so no wait to seat 16 of us. Our waiter was terrific! He knew the beers available, and how to deal with a grumpy toddler. The pizza was awesome! Crust was flaky like good pie crust, I loved it!

My daughter and I shared a small veggie pizza, and it was, of course, delicious. We had a very friendly - but busy - waiter. It took a while to place our order, and then you have to wait for about 30 minutes on the pizza, but we enjoyed watching the Blackhawks play on one of the many TVs. It's... More

The place is very nice, cozy, kind of mix between a Pub and an old style blues bar. Personnel is very friendly, smiling, helpful. But again, Pizzeria Due has nothing, absolutely nothing to do by far to Italian cuisine. So not trusting the pizzas (I saw the one that were served at the table next to mine...) I chose a... More

Whether you want to try one of the classic topping combinations, or mix and match your own favorites, this is pretty much the definition of Chicago style deep dish pizza. That goes for the staff and the atmosphere of the establishment just as well as it does for the beverages from the bar and the pies from the kitchen.

Have them put your pizza order in at the same time they put your name on the list for a table, but then check back.

Being European, I was naturally suspicious of deep-dish, with traumatic memories of childhood parties at Pizza Hut foremost in my mind. I was expecting a stodgy, greasy carb-fest but the reality was a rather fantastic pizza pie (is this what the Beta Band are singing about?!). Get the house special, and arrive hungry and watch your prejudices melt away in... More
