Beautiful Experience!

Dined during Restaurant Week with hubby for their 3-course Lunch. Found out you can get it daily at $25 so it's always available. Overall - Fabulous!!! Great little spot with spot-on food presentations! The coziness does lend itself to talking to and sharing food info with your neighbors!

Myself and my girlfriend were lucky enough to visit Chicago a little while ago, and as most tourists do, I did some research on where to visit and eat. GQ (unlikely to use their sources again) had Blackbird as one of THE places to visit when in Chicago, so I made it a mission of mine to get a reservation.... More

We went to Blackbird at the recommendation of a friend. It was early, before the opera, so we were nearly alone. The celery soup with preserved lemon was fantastic. I had fois gras for my main course. It was exquisite but sprinkled with something black that I was never able to identify. Crumbs of chocolate cookie? My companion had the... More

Friendly service, not rushed and attentive with hovering over your shoulder. The water glass will never be empty. Blackbird is about the food, sauces and blends of food groups. The meal is not something that your going to experience at an average restaurant. The restaurant has won numerous James Beard Awards and stars from other organizations. Go for the food... More

After reading the last few reviews, I thought perhaps I had made an error in booking a table at Blackbird. But, my experience was more than satisfactory in terms of service. In fact I would say that we received outstanding attention through the course of our meal with friends. Our waiter and all other attending staff performed admirably and did... More

I dined at Blackbird with my family and was underwhelmed by the experience. Servicevwas overall poor. Our waiter had a very condescending attitude towards questions and became very defensive when our entrees had not arrived 45 minutes after our appetizers. It took so long that we ran out of wine before the entrees arrived. She kept on pushing us to... More

Nothing special, really. Expectations are high because of the Michelin star and it doesnt quite deliver. For these prices we deserve more...service was not maliciously bad but not overflowingly good - which is part of what should come with michelin-starred hospitality. My wife and I visited from London and also visited "Grace" (recommended) and the staff made a point of... More

Wait staff was unfriendly and service was very slow. Very overpriced and very small portions. Too many options in the area to settle for this over rated place. Don't go.
