I was part of a networking reception held here for a group of 30. The upstairs private, modern room was nicely set up for us. We were served champagne & wines and mingled. Our preselected menu included seared scallops, salad, wood-grilled sturgeon, and chocolate calvados mousse. Everything was splendid! What I was disappointed with was how slow the plating of... More

This was a splendid dinner, from the amuses bouches to the complimentary sweetmeats. I had the sweetbreads, the salmon, and chocolate mousse for dessert. My wife had the scallops, the abalone mushroom, and the grilled pear with buttery oatcake, Everything was absolutely first-rate, including the service. If we had time we'd definitely go here again.Highly recommended!

I'm recently getting my foodie on and trying to go to places that aren't my usual selection or in my budget. So here we are at Blackbird, a very small restaurant where no attention is spared. We arrived earlier than our reservation but were seated upon arrival. Table next to the kitchen however it was great to see the prep... More

I'm a huge foodie, so any chance I get to eat at a good restaurant, I'm there! I ended up opting for bar seating since I was by myself. Usually when a place is not used to having solo diners it could be unusual for the server, and unfortunately this was the case. It looked like there was an 'experienced'... More

I like this place a lot for fine dining food. The quality is one of the very best in town. My girlfriend and I ordered fish dish and we love it. Would definitely return

Very good restaurant, quality of food is very high and the choices are very unique. I ate surgeon for the first time of my life and it was also the first time I saw it on a menu... An open kitchen also, which I liked very much. So absolutely recommended restaurant, the only minor thing was that it's pretty noisy.

We had dinner reservations for a Saturday night, and it was really busy. Had a lovely cocktail called Blackbird noir, and started with an appetizer of scallops with corn and blueberries. Amazing! My friend had the celery root soup with lobster, which also was amazing according to her. Our entrees were also very flavorful, hers being lamb with chick peas,... More

Everything about the food was amazing at this sleek, modern establishment. I had the prix fixe lunch, which is very popular, although I saw a lot of people ordering sandwiches. I would have given the place a rating of 5, but the service was uneven. Still worth the walk to the West edge of the Loop. All courses were memorable... More

I really hate to give an average to poor review, but our experience was so average to mediocre that I must. We had dined at Tru the night before(which was beyond incredible) and this was our last dinner in Chicago during a family visit. Our reservation was on a Saturday night and of course the place was very busy. They... More

We managed to book a table on a September Sunday evening and this became the culinary highlight of our trip to Chicago. We had an endive salad and bbq eel as starters and lamb and whitefish for entrees and all of them were delicious and inventive, eg the potato cooking broth added on the whitefish or the cucumber on the...
