Great Prix Fixe Lunch but Overpriced Wine

I went to Blackbird with a colleague for lunch. We both had the prix fixe lunch. At first, I thought that I'd leave hungry because of the relatively small portions. But I left more than satisfied after the meal. The prix fixe menu is a great price for a nicer lunch. The glasses of wine... read more

What's not good at Blackbird? NOTHING. Whether a business meeting or an evening to impress, this is my go-to spot. Food is spectacular and the service impeccable. Yes it can be a bit cramped, but who cares! Makes it easier to spy on the other tables as you try to decide what to order. This has long been a Chicago... More

I took my team of eight here for a dinner following an all day meeting. There is a good wine selection with ample variety of mixed drinks. Several in our group (all females) ordered and enjoyed the Blackbird Rose, an interesting twist on a wine spritzer. For appetizers we ordered a sampling of scollops and prawns, both were delicious although... More

Even though I've had the pleasure of visiting many of Chicago's best restaurants, I had never made it to Blackbird, which was one of the first outposts in the now very trendy West Loop. So, when a foodie friend was visiting and a reservation at Blackbird was open, we jumped at the chance. By no means was it a bad... More

Outstanding restaurant on Randolph St. Had a business lunch there a few weeks ago and ordered the Bouillabaisse which could have been the best I have ever had. Don't miss it.

Impeccable service, delicious cocktails, the food is really a different experience, my wife had the roasted lamb loin and I had the wood-grilled sturgeon, both delicious, nice presentation and good ambiance. Don’t miss the warm cinnamon Danish for dessert.

The restaurant is nice, food is ok, I actually didn't see why are they in the top list, service is very very good. It feels like a big table all dining together since the tables are so close one to each other!.

The food at Blackbird is wonderful. Inventive flavor combinations, perfect preparation. Among our favorites was a corn gazpacho that was bursting with flavor. And the bartender took great care of me while I was waiting for the rest of my party. When I asked for the scotch list he said, "you might want to try this, it's not on the... More

Blackbird is located near a number of wonderful restaurants. Actually we planned to dine at Avec. Upon walking into Avec we determined it was far too noisy for us. Loud music and no acoustics are a deal killer. So we waked next door to Blackbird. No reservations but we were graciously accommodated at an outside table. It was a lovely... More

Great New American French restaurant with a great twist on the normal New American fare. They also make done killer cocktails! Standouts for me for appetizers were the scallops with strawberry dashi and the sweetbreads. Standout mains were the duck and pork belly. Desserts- we tried the cheese Danish, mud pie, and bourbon peach which were all heavenly. They also... More
